*Brief Description: dark-ginger tomcat with yellow-green eyes. 

In-depth Description: Amberfox is a medium-sized cat with a rather slim build that is hidden by his thick, dark-ginger coat. From a distance he is easy to spot, as a mass of russet-and-orange fur moving with surprising grace through the green. His eyes contain a peculiar depth, and one can tell that he is always thinking as his eyes move about, taking in his surroundings, musing over his next move. They are of a somewhat pale yellow-green hue that contrasts starkly with his dark pelt.

Personality description: By no means is Amberfox a particularly nice cat, to anyone. Having been the butt of his brothers' jokes and pranks he slips easily into a mean, aggressive mood, which serves as his primary defense mechanism; everyone is an enemy to Amberfox unless they prove otherwise. So far, with the sole exception of his mentor, no one has passed the bar. Because of this, he is very often verbally abusive, and is a hard person to like and impress. His impression of others is based heavily on the first encounter and he is extremely picky about who he spends time with; not surprisingly, he usually acts independently and is extremely reserved. 

Despite his unlikeable behavior, Amberfox's loyalty to those who he does consider his "family," literally and figuratively, has no end. Even through the lifelong bullying from them Amberfox finds himself defending his brothers whenever someone talks bad, simply because he still feels tied towards his bloodline. Likewise, his mentor, whom he currently considers his only friend, will be someone that Amberfox does not hesitate to risk his life for. His actions towards these people-- small gestures of kindness such as hunting for an injured Frostberry or sitting down and listening to his mentor-- do show that he has some heart, given that someone will give him a chance to bare it. Given that it's already hard for him to communicate with others in the first place, this has yet to happen. His current loyalties lie primarily with his family, with his mentor, and with ShadowClan as a whole; he has a deep love for the community, even if he doesn't feel connected to most of its members, and will not hesitate to defend his home whenever necessary. He has a secret appreciation and fascination for people (meaning cats), and spends most of his time people-watching and observing the dynamic of the Clan.

Naturally, Amberfox is of quite a brilliant character; fast on his paws and sharp with his tongue, Amberfox thinks quickly and acts quickly. He has no interest in fighting someone for the sake of dominance, but his competitive nature, coupled with his tendency to be oppressive in the face of a "personal attack," he is quick to throw claws whenever he feels like he's backed into a corner. Being alone has also granted him a lot of time to think about things, and one would be surprised at the insight he can give. What's annoying is his tendency to be loud, and Amberfox is prone to speaking whatever is on his mind about the subject at hand; although he is aware of what is appropriate and not appropriate to say, he nevertheless can be reckless with his comments. Again, he sees no pleasure in tormenting someone for the sake of toying with their feelings, but if he feels that there is something that needs to be voiced, he will do it.

*History:

CHILDHOOD

Amberkit was born in a later litter, where he was the only surviving kit out of three. His parents cherished their youngest son, and watched him day after day, taking care of him and showering little Amberkit with attention. Of course, this annoyed his two older brothers, Frostpaw and Rookpaw. They were about 10 moons older than him, of Dark elements, and didn't appreciate their runty brother. However, Rosepaw, their littermate and Amberkit's only sister, adored Amberkit. They became fast friends, as Rosepaw didn't have many acquaintances of her own age. Rosepaw, being an apprentice, had duties to do and couldn't stay for long when she visited him in the nursery. As she became more and more busy, Amberkit saw less and less of her.

Then, during the same Frostpaw and Rookpaw received their warrior names, Amberkit became a 'paw in the same ceremony, apprenticed to a stern but friendly mentor who was patient with him and his attitude. However, Rosepaw ran away the week before the ceremony, and no one could find her at all. Frostberry and Rookstep, both whom disliked their sister from the start, simply dismissed this as one of Rosepaw's "adventures," and reassured that she would return soon. Amberpaw was devastated, Frostberry and Rookstep did not step forward to help. He became somewhat depressed, as Rosepaw had been the closest to a best friend, and lagged in his training. His denmates stopped talking to him, since he would never respond. He missed what was supposed to be his first Gathering (the first Gathering that had happened since he became an apprentice), but his brothers went, and brought back the news: Rosepaw, now Rosetail, had joined ThunderClan. Furious, they had disowned their blood sister for not being loyal enough to ShadowClan.

Filled with hope, Amberpaw decided to sneak out one night to try to convince Rosetail to come back. However, he had managed to walk the hour-long trip to the border, and was just about to cross it when the moonlight patrol came forth with Frostberry and Rookstep at the head. Thinking that he also wanted to leave, they disowned him on the spot. Things didn't get easier when both parents, while on a joint hunting trip, were slain by badgers; their father had attacked the beast first, and then their mother, after trying to help, was killed in action along with the father. Amberpaw slowly became bitter and frustrated at this turn of events in his life, and slipped from the social circle and into the shadows, refusing to seek help and instead withering away.  

WARRIORHOOD

After failing once due to "obvious lack of effort," (his mentor's words), Amberpaw finally passed his assessment, and was named Amberfox not long after. However, he continued to remain a coldhearted, reserved, judgmental cat who had a hard outer shell. He sought stability from tying himself towards others; although he liked to act independently, he found comfort in knowing that he belonged, however forcefully he inserted himself, to something bigger. A mentorship. A family. A Clan. Whoever spoke badly about his mentor, or his brothers, or his Clan, would be met with teeth, claws, vines, and rocks. Despite Frostberry and Rookstep keeping up their antics, Amberfox nevertheless stuck to their side and allowed them to harass him, as they were the only people he knew that had been with him his entire life. His parents had left, obviously; and his peers whom he had lived with and played with when he was a kit had left him, at least in his eyes, even if he was the one to withdraw from them. 

Later in his life, Rookstep was slain by a fox, leaving Frostberry depressed. For some unknown reason, Frostberry became even more hostile to him (perhaps because both of them were on the patrol that witnessed Rookstep's death), and the two toms officially stopped talking. But still, When Frostberry suddenly disappeared to join DarkClan, where he claimed he felt "more comfortable" and had never felt at home with the other ShadowClan cats, Amberfox still found himself feeling just as angry and devastated as when Rosetail switched allegiances to ThunderClan. Frostberry leaving only tore the ever-growing hole in the youngest brother's heart that has yet to be filled with something more wholesome and worthwhile.
