Current Leader: Lynxstar
Previous Leader: Leafstar

Valued Skills: Climbing, Jumping, Hunting
Overall Lifestyle: Thunderclan believes that there is a balance and harmony to all things in life as they have the ability to give life to the forest. Cats are given a huge responsibility of maintaining both the balance of the physical world and their emotional being. Any cats seen as "unbalanced" in their eyes are often shunned unless they believe that they have some kind of "redemption". Rogues and loners often accepted into the camp as long as they think they are worthy of joining the clan. Thunderclan would try to be the most neutral of the five clans but are very firm (at least expected to be) in their beliefs. They are the most loyal to the warrior code and look to it for guidance and order in life.
Thunderclan cats have a bit of a Ying Yang belief, and often opposite cats are paired together, such as a small apprentice and a large cat for a mentor. Mentors and apprentices are expected to work well together and get along and can be looked down upon if complications do occur. Mentors are expected to teach their apprentice all they know, and apprentices are expected to give it their wholesome effort in learning the skills to be a warrior. The mentor and apprentice pairs are also expected to create a rather close bond that can carry through the rest of their lives.
Mates in Thunderclan are expected to genuinely cherish the other, and their relationships do not limit to being romantic as long as it is healthy. Mates are expected to stay as mates for the rest of their life, as it is believed that they must be committed to each other and stick it through thick and thin. Flings and breakups are extremely frowned upon, and many Thunderclan cats take their time before choosing a mate because of this.

Typical Personalities: Arrogant, Uptight, Indecisive, Self Righteous, Cautious, Considerate, Stubborn
Cats in Thunderclan often think that they are morally better than the other clans, leading them to potentially be arrogant and self-important. Thunderclan cats are also the most conflicted between major decisions in their lives, as they need to consider the consequences from it, especially since their entire life could change due to it. Many of the Thunderclan cats believe that their way of life is the best way to live, and would fiercely challenge anyone who thinks otherwise, making them ferociously loyal to their clan and beliefs. Thunderclan cats are mostly neutral to the other clans but can be extremely stubborn once they set their mind on something.

Loyalty to the Code: Out of all of the clans, Thunderclan is the most loyal to the warrior code. They believe that without the code, there will be chaos. Because of their loyalty to the code, Thunderclan cats are the least likely to fall in love with a cat that is not within their clan and the least likely to leave their clan. They rarely break the code, but Thunderclan is unlikely to take in outsiders unless they are deemed worthy.
Typical Names: Thunderclan names typically include a prefix that is related to the earth (plants or animals) and a suffix that reflects their personality
Typical Appearances: Thunderclan cats are more on the muscular side of things but are still lithe and agile, clearly built for climbing, and being quite powerful jumpers. Their pelts tend to blend well with nature, consisting largely of browns and tabbies, along with tortoiseshells, along with any other pelts that may pop up here and there.
-Shadowclan-
"Fire blazes, why shouldn't we?"
Current Leader: Nightstar
Previous Leader: Duskstar
Clan Location: Shadowclan territory primarily consists of tall pines and other evergreen trees. The forest floor is rather bare, coated mainly by fallen pine cones and dried pine needles, but that doesn't keep the prey from settling down there especially squirrels.

Valued Skills: Element, Stealth, Fighting
Overall Lifestyle: Shadowclan's main element being fire influenced a lot of their beliefs. Shadowclan cats are firm believers in individuality and take great pride in who they are. More often than not, Shadowclan cats use their elements for their own entertainment, causing them and Thunderclan to almost always be at odds. Shadowclan cats tend to not care as much about keeping a balance in life, and their elements can often grow out of control. The only rule about keeping their element under reasonable control is that they do not practice them in the forest hunting grounds, and instead have a special area where they are allowed to use their element and train. This area is pretty much charred to ashes all year round.
In Shadowclan, mentors and apprentices are typically very formal and business-like, their mentors tend to very stern and their apprentices, very rebellious and rambunctious. Mentors are expected to be responsible for all of their apprentice's behaviour, and could potentially be punished as well if their apprentice goes out of line.
Shadowclan cats often drift in and out of love, but ever enduring love can be found here and there. They tend to fall hard and fast, but their relationship could disappear like an easily distinguished flame or blaze like a wildfire. Only fate knows. Shadowclan cats also get together often for kits, as kits are strongly valued in Shadowclan, and there seems to be an unofficial contest to see whose kits can be the best warrior...

Typical Personalities: Proud, Impulsive, Aggressive, Defensive, Loyal, Free Thinking, Independent, Competitive
Shadowclan is very proud of their abilities, and tend to "show them off" to the other clans, especially Thunderclan, by destroying bits of the Growth Patrol's hard work. This ticks Thunderclan off to no ends. They are the most likely to charge into things without thinking, and the most likely to have a fiery temper. They do not take other clans saying anything against them very well. Shadowclan cats are very, very competitive, both within their own clans and with other clans, each striving to be the very best.

Loyalty to the Code: Shadowclan cats are not exactly loyal to the code. They might seek love outside of their clan but are very against loners, rogues and other non-clan cats, staying true to their clan blood matters belief. Shadowclan is pretty likely to take in cats from other clans, but it is improbable for them to take in any outsiders.
Typical Names: Shadowclan names tend to include a prefix that focuses on what element they have and a suffix for a skill they are known for.
Typical Appearances: Shadowclan cats consist primarily of very dark pelted cats, blending into shadows with ease. Their pelt range tends to be black, dark greys, and darker tortoiseshells, however seeing as they used to be - and still are - a refuge for Dark cats from other clans, they have more outliers within their ranks than the other clans, with the exception of Darkclan. Their builds tend to be the most fight based of them all, more muscular and stocky than the other clans, giving them a strength and pure power advantage in physical fights. However, they are less agile than the other clans, yet in their territory, this does not matter so much, and they more than make up for it.
-Windclan-
"Wherever the wind will blow, we will go."
Current Leader: Stormstar
Previous Leader: Heatherstar
Clan Location: Windclan cats reside on the open moors and fields. Their territory consists of a mixture of hills and plains. Very few trees can be found on their territory, only a few dot the territory. It is said that you can see the opposite border from the other. Windclan territories are covered with lush grass and smooth grounds.

Windclan territories are covered with lush grass and smooth grounds.
Valued Skills: Running, Endurance, Jumping
Overall Lifestyle: Windclan values knowledge above all things, believing that brain is better than brawn, that knowledge is power, and rather use words instead of claws. This results in the other clans labelling them as weak. Windclan cats prefer to have all sides of a story before reaching a decision and watch where the wind will blow before acting, this causes them to be hesitant towards making a decision and acting. They also value equality and strongly upholds the virtue of patience.
They are the voice of logic among the clans, and excellent negotiators.
In Windclan, learning is something that doesn't stop after apprenticeship. Apprentices learn from their mentors, but mentors are also expected to learn from their apprentices. Other than combat and hunting, all apprentices are also taught the basics to herbs, such as marigold for infection, cobwebs for bleeding, as well as the skill to identify the severity of their injury (if their leg is dislocated or broken etc.). Warrior assessment is also different, as it consists of tests and memorization in addition to the normal assessments. Apprentice and mentor bonds are the strongest in Windclan, most of them lasting throughout the rest of their lives.
Mates in Windclan are some of the most passionate. They are much more patient and calm with each other and try to always set aside their differences and solve the problems if they arise. Parenthood also brings mates even closer as they teach their kits all they need to know before apprenticeships and are expected to set their tiny paws onto the right path. Windclan cats often look to the parents when there are undisciplined kits.
In Windclan, curiosity is a very valued trait. Kits are taught to just ask and that there is no such thing as a stupid question from their days in the nursery. Cats are encouraged to learn hands on and make discoveries of their own as well as learn from the past.

Typical Personalities: Passive, Indecisive, Hesitant, Peaceful, Intelligent, Calm, Patient, Disciplined, Curious
Windclan cats are typically the voice of reason and logic among the clans. Their passive ways have earned their reputation of being "weak" and being all bark and no bite. Windclan cats are typically disciplined and well educated, several of them having an aura of sophistication. Windclan cats are especially calm and patient with a curious mind.
Loyalty to the Code: Windclan follows the code fairly well. They disagree with some parts of it, believing that the code is a bit outdated, but follow it nonetheless. Windclan cats may seek cats romantically outside of their clan, though other cats would expect that you made a thorough decision when choosing so. Windclan cats are fairly likely to leave their clan in pursuit of knowledge, but are unlikely for anything else.
Typical Names: Windclan names typically focus on personality and appearance.
Typical Appearances: Windclan cats tend to sport much paler, golden coats, causing gingers, creams, and brightly colored calicoes and tabbies to be common amongst their ranks. Darker colors are still present, but much less common, like sparse breaks in an otherwise golden meadow. They tend to have leaner builds, are more wirery, and clearly built for speed and agility rather than strength and climbing or swimming.
-Riverclan-
"Our clan is like water, we flow through choices and harden like ice."
Current Representative: BumblepeltPrevious Representative: Watersong
Clan Location: Riverclan territories hold many rivers, true to their name, even their camp is surrounded by water. The ground there is rather wet to the paws but gets drier furth away from the Darkclan border. Their territory holds an abundance of fish, and Riverclan rarely has to worry about going hungry, especially since none of the other clans, except some cats from Darkclan, share their preference for fish. Near the rivers of Riverclan, there are many water-grown plants such as cattails and many others. Their territory is very similar to Windclan appearance wise.

Valued Skills: Swimming, Hunting, Tracking
Overall Lifestyle: Riverclan would be a very chaotic clan if they hadn't change the way they ran things. Riverclan's system is the most different from the other clans, a democratic way of ruling, and they are very proud of it and the life they live. They believe in the freedom to express your thoughts and the freedom to chase your goals, making them a very free-thinking clan where opinions are encouraged to be shared.
These basic beliefs are taught to cats from a young age.
Mentors and apprentices are very business-like and formal, one of the first tasks that each pair often do is that they list each other's goals and expectations, as well as express any opinion on how the training should work. Mentor and apprentice bonds tend to fade after apprenticeship unless the two bond through more than simply training.
Mates in Riverclan vary in their situations. Mates are expected to be open-minded and accepting of each other, and to treat the other as their confidant as well as a trustee. Riverclan is very flexible towards this.

Typical Personalities: Free-Thinking, Flexible, Independent, Open Minded, Social, Decisive, Democratic, Confident
Riverclan cats rarely are afraid of voicing their thoughts, as even the shiest of kits are taught that their opinion matters from a young age. They tend to go with the flow, flexible to any changes that life throws at them. Their cats can be conservative or liberal, but their minds are pretty flexible due to the ever-changing ruling of the representatives. They prefer to decide as a group and make the decision as soon as it appears rather than wait.
Due to the Riverclan way of ruling, many other clans tend to look down upon them for not having a traditional leader and deputy instead of a representative that always changes.

Loyalty to the Code: Riverclan cats are fairly loyal to the code, but this tends to vary from cat to cat. They are quite likely to seek mates outside of camp, as they aren't tightly held back due to their free-thinking ways. Outsiders have a fair chance of being accepted into Riverclan as it is decided through a vote, and most cats are quite flexible in their beliefs.
Typical Names: Riverclan names typically focus on personality and skills, though ice element cats are often named winter names.
Typical Appearances: Riverclan cats are very sleek pelted, water running surprisingly easily off of their fur, due in part to their diet. Despite their leaner builds, they are still surprisingly strong, muscle built up by swimming. Their pelts, as though the blend in with rocks and water, tend to consist more of silvers, whites, and more dilute coloration, however that does not mean others do not occur to add sparks of color.
-Darkclan-
"Pushing away the Dark will only destroy you. You must learn to embrace it."
Current Leader: Ravenstar
Previous Leader: N/a
Clan Location: Darkclan's territory is mostly dominated by it's tundra. Though much of it thaws during Greenleaf, striking a resemblance to RiverClan's marsh during the hotter moons, it becomes a frozen waste in Leafbare. A swamp marks the border between them and ShadowClan, where most of it's trees reside. There is now a ravine to the south-west of it's territory where Elm Sliver once stood, swallowed by a recent earthquake.

Valued Skills: Element, Endurance, Stealth
Overall Lifestyle: The other Clans have classified DarkClan as nothing more than a band of rogues ran by a ruthless dictator due to their constant shows of strength. Despite this, DarkClan is more of a tightly bonded community where each Clanmate is considered family. Cats are encouraged to spend time with the Clan’s young when they aren’t tasked with patrols or training.
DarkClan sees the need to display their strength at every chance they get. They often cause border skirmishes with RiverClan to “put them in their place” due to them giving them the most trouble.
The Clan’s warriors are separated into two groups: the day-patrollers and the night-hunters, taking advantage of their element. The day-patrollers typically patrol the territory and do a bit of hunting so the night-hunters don’t wake up hungry. The night-hunters are nocturnal, hunting and marking the borders with elemental remnants to warn off other Clans and any nocturnal predators. This way of life has made the other clans grow weary of Darkclan, especially since they would have a huge advantage if they ever attacked a clan in the night.
Darkclan warriors and their apprentice have strong bonds, and the love between mates are often lasting due to the family like bond that Darkclan cats share.

Typical Personalities: Stubborn, Strong-willed, Determined, Proud, Kind, Arrogant
Despite being the newest of all the clans, Darkclan embraces who they are and are not afraid of showing it. In fact, it isn't surprising that Darkclan cats put themselves on a pedestal and are arrogant in their ways. Darkclan cats are stubborn and strong-willed, often rather making mistakes than admit them due to their stubbornness and pride. They are very determined cats, and most Darkclan cats aim to show the other clans that they are a real clan and deserve to be treated as one.

Loyalty to the Code: DarkClan acknowledges the Warrior code and for the most part follows it, but there are times when they like to "bend the rules". DarkClan is open to accept any cats from outside their Clan so long as they have the Dark element. Rogues and Loners have no chance of joining due to their lack of elements.
Typical Names: Darkclan cats often have a prefix that is related to their appearance or the darkness and a suffix that focuses on personality and skill.
Typical Appearances: Darkclan, being the newest clan as well as a refuge for Dark cats from all clans, is the most mismatched of them all. Rather than having an expected range of builds and pelt colors, this clan is quite varied in both coloration and build, which they readily celebrate. There are cats as sturdy and muscular as a Shadowclanner, to cats as lithe and wiry as a Windclanner, and anything in between, and their pelt range seems to have no limit and no ties. Perhaps in future something specific may shine through, though for now, they celebrate their differences willingly, preferring a solid elemental base over an expected physique.
