When it comes to using the Elements in roleplay, there are certain ways you can use them. For each Element, there are combat skills that can be unlocked as your cat ages and learns to control their Element. The older and more experienced they get, the more powerful their abilities can become. Ability slots can be unlocked through the shop or certain events.
Every cat will learn a mastery skill, which will be much stronger than any other normal skill. Though it may not be mentioned in all of them, Mastery Skills can only be used once per battle.
Every ability may be subject to a balance update or a rework. If the staff or community feel that a certain ability may be too weak or too strong, the damage can be modified. If the staff or community feel that a certain ability can be considered practically useless, the ability can be changed completely. Everyone will be notified of a rework so those affected by it can adjust their applications accordingly. If you wish to make a suggestion for a balance update or potential rework, please notify Thorne.

Fire Skills
- Sparks - The first skill that Fire Elementals can unlock. Typically, they do not need to search within themselves to find it and tend to unleash it on accident as kits, especially when sneezing.
- Small Fireball - The second skill that Fire Elementals can unlock. They usually unlock this ability when they are older kits/newer apprentices. They can turn their sparks into a small flame and practice controlling it by playing a questionable form of moss ball with fellow Fire Elementals. In a fight, they can throw it at their enemies.
- Flamethrower - One of the more advanced skills, Flamethrower can be difficult to learn how to control. When Sparks won’t do for clearing out dead brush, Flamethrower is used. In a fight, the Fire Elementals are a little less careful with how they use it, often starting fires that can cause distractions for the Water Elementals. The longest a cat can use it is 3 seconds.
- Large Fireball - A larger and stronger version of Small Fireball. Requires a large amount of focus to contain it.
- Flaming Claws - A more advanced skill that requires a certain level of mastery to not burn your fur off! Cats will ignite their claws with fire to deal more damage on their attacks, though this will slowly drain hp the longer it is on.
- Smoke bomb - A simple skill in concept, quite difficult in practice. There must be enough brush to cause thickening smoke to be able to do this. Smoke bomb lasts for 2 turns and lowers your opponent's accuracy during this time.
- Mastery skill - Combust - Your cat summons the strength of the fire within. Letting it out at once, your cat sends a massive wave of fire across a small range, setting plants on fire and causing massive damage to their opponent.
- Mastery Skill - Hellfire - Your cat has been building up their anger. Once unleashed, their eyes will appear to blaze and they will gain +10 damage to their attacks for the next 3 turns. This skill can be combined with Flaming Claws.
Water skills
- Squirt - The first ability water kits learn. Similar to sparks, this skill is often found on accident. Once they learn to control it, kits will be able to unleash it through their mouths. More experienced users such as medicine cats have learned to use it like Rainstorm and use it to douse small fires and water plants.
- Water Breathing - A priority skill that all water elementals must learn. This skill allows them to breathe underwater. Enemy Water attacks will be passively less effective.
- Bubble Party - Your cat has begun to understand the water more and more. They can now summon water and trap enemies in a bubble for one turn, dealing damage. If your enemy has the Water Breathing skill, no damage will be dealt.
- Wave Rider - Your cat has greater knowledge on the way the river flows and can now mimic waves. Your cat can summon a small wave that deals damage and makes the ground muddy, slowing down all but the Earth elementals including yourself.
- Rainstorm - Your cat now understands how to store extra water in their body to help their skills. Using the stored water, your cat can send it out and have it hover above the battleground for 2 turns. Once the second turn is complete, the body of water will collapse on top of your opponent and drench them, dealing damage and slowing them for 1 turn.
- Water Jet - Your cat summons the stored water in their bodies to create a powerful stream of water that deals significant damage to your opponent.
- Mastery Skill - Raging Rivers - Your cat can cause the closest body of water to flood and become aggressive, dealing some damage for 5 turns. Be careful though! A highly skilled Ice Elemental can freeze it and cancel the rest of the damage and turn the tide!
- Mastery Skill - Tsunami - Your cat calls upon the water of the rivers and that has been stored in their body to create a tsunami! This attack cannot be missed and will cause a large amount of damage to your opponent. Can only be used once per battle and drains your energy, weakening any elemental skills for the rest of the battle. This also causes the ground to become muddy, slowing everyone but Earth Elementals.
Earth skills
- Bloom! - Your kit has figured out that they can make grass grow where it typically doesn't. A basic skill, but fundamental for learning the rest. Medicine Cats push this skill to its limit and can create whole new plants!
- Strengthen - Your cat has learned how to manipulate plants around them. They can now summon bark from dead trees or some from the ground to grant them a defence bonus for 2 turns.
- Rock shower - Your cat uses some small stones in the area and causes them to rain down on their enemy, dealing a small amount of damage for each stone used. A maximum of 10 stones may be used at a time.
- Grasping Vines - Your cat calls upon the plants around them, growing thick vines to wrap around their opponent's legs. This can be dodged but can last up to 3 turns. They can be burned off by fire.
- Shield - Your cat can create a small stone wall to dodge an oncoming ranged attack (such as Water Jet or Flamethrower). This can also be used for an ally.
- Erupt - Your cat can create a small pillar of stone that will push away a cat and deal some damage. It then shatters and can be used for Rock shower, granting 10 stones automatically.
- Mastery Skill - Stranglethorns - Your cat has truly mastered their control of plants! Summon a thick wave of thorn vines that wrap around your opponent and cause significant damage for each turn it remains. A maximum of 5 turns. Flamethrower and Combust are the only skills that can cancel out this ability.
- Mastery Skill - Revitalize - Your cat can call the will of the plants to heal themselves. This skill can heal up to 30 hit points but can only be used once per fight, so use it carefully!
Air skills
- Gust - Your kit has learned how to create small gusts of wind, pushing away small objects. Can be used to push dust into your enemy's eyes, decreasing their accuracy by 2 points
- Wind Runner - Your cat has learned how to use the wind to their advantage, speeding them up. Increases their accuracy for 2 turns. Can also be used outside of battle for any reason needed.
- Back off! - Your cat uses the wind to push their opponent away, causing their next attack to miss.
- Howling Gale - Your cat can now summon a small tornado that knocks your opponent up and deals a medium chunk of damage to them. This can be channelled for up to 3 turns to increase the damage.
- Sandstorm - Your cat calls upon the wind, throwing all loose debris into the air and creating a large sandstorm. It will decrease your opponent's accuracy by 2 points for 4 turns. There is a chance that they will take damage from any debris.
- Hurl - Your cat uses the winds to throw their opponent away into a nearby object, causing significant damage. A much stronger version of Back off!
- Mastery Skill - Asphyxiate - Your cat has truly mastered their element, allowing them to pull the air out of their opponent's lungs, dealing significant damage and slowing them for 3 turns. This drains your cat's energy and can only be used once per battle.
- Mastery Skill - Warrior of the Sky - Your cat can have the winds around them become solid and sharp, increasing both their defence and attack for 3 turns.
- Nocturnal - Your kit has figured out that they now have perfect sight in the dark. Increases accuracy while fighting at night and vision-impairing attacks are slightly less effective. A passive skill.
- From Shadows - Your cat can now manipulate the shadows around them to disappear, causing the opponent to miss their next attack. If kept active, the opponent will gradually gain more accuracy. Can only be used for up to 3 turns
- Copycat - Your cat can now create a clone of themselves made up of shadows. They also cloak themselves similar to From Shadows to cause the opponent to be confused. There is a 65% chance your opponent's attack will hit the clone instead. The clone disappears and the cloak fades after the opponent's attack.
- Void - Your cat can summon a ball or dark energy and throw it at the enemy, dealing a medium amount of damage.
- Siphon - Your cat wraps shadows around their opponent and steals their hp during the time it remains. A maximum of 3 turns. This can be cleansed by Revitalize or water abilities.
- Fade - Your cat can warp from shadow to shadow without actually needing to move. Can be combined with From Shadows to create more "jump points". Increases your chance of dodging attacks. Can only be used 10 times per battle, use them well.
- Mastery Skill - Nightmare - A much stronger version of Copycat, your cat can summon up to 8 copies of themselves that deal damage (based on hp, the more they have, the more they can summon). Each copy does less damage based on the amount there are.
- Mastery Skill - Oblivion - Your cat's spirit can temporarily leave its body and deal a large amount of damage to the enemy. A guaranteed hit. This does damage to yourself as well.
Ice skills
- Frost - Your kitten has discovered that their paws have suddenly become surrounded by frosted earth! Once learned to control, your cat's breath becomes cold as ice and can deal a very small amount of damage while also lowering their enemy's accuracy by a small amount for one turn.
- Frozen earth - Your cat can freeze some of the moisture in the ground and even walk across water using this ability. If combined with Frost, this ability can create a small sheet of ice on the ground that can cause your enemy to slip and miss their next attack.
- Spiked barrier - With more control of their element, your cat can now erect a barrier of sharp icicles, blocking the next oncoming. If a close ranged attack is used such as Flaming Claws, this will deal damage to their opponent. If your cat desires to use this ability as offensive, they can roll for a 50/50 chance to push the wall forward and deal damage to the opponent. Fire abilities can melt the wall, though it becomes a puddle on the ground that can be used for Frozen Earth.
- Frozen spear - Your cat throws a large, sharp icicle at their opponent to deal damage.
- The high ground - Your cat can raise pillars of ice to climb onto and cannot be attacked by close range abilities such as Flaming Claws. They are still at risk of ranged abilities and they are not untouchable here. If there are large enough shadows, a dark cat can use Fade to get back into close range. An earth cat can also use Erupt to climb up as well. The pillar lasts 2 turns.
- Frostbite - Your cat can leave up to 5 ice replicas of themselves throughout a fight to take the next attack for them. Their replicas shatter and deal recoil damage to enemies as well as lower accuracy for one turn.
- Mastery Skill - Freeze! - Your cat channels their inner elemental control to freeze all the moisture in the atmosphere around their opponent, trapping them and freezing them solid for 3 turns. While your cat cannot use offensive skills against them during this time, they can use it to set up abilities such as Frozen Earth. While trapped, their opponent takes some damage each turn that they are frozen. Cats who use Combust can escape.
- Mastery Skill - Blizzard - Your cat summons their inner powers to create a small blizzard on the battlefield. This will significantly reduce both parties' accuracy, though it will deal damage to their opponent each turn it is active. Blizzard can last for 3 turns.
- Static - Very similar to sparks, your kitten may be finding themselves sneezing electric sparks and having their pelts become ridden with static electricity. Once controlled, they are no longer affected by static electricity.
- Charge - Your cat takes this turn to charge their next ability. This can stack up to 5 times, dealing more damage with each charge.
- Shock Factor - Your cat unleashes some energy they've been stockpiling to charge the ground with electricity, dealing a small amount of damage to enemies for 3 turns.
- Tag! - Your cat sends a ball of electricity to their opponent that deals damage. Has a chance of stunning the enemy for 1 turn.
- Pulse - Your cat unleashes a burst of energy that deals damage and knocks back their opponent, reducing their accuracy for the next turn.
- Jolt - Your cat summons a small lightning bolt that deals quite a bit of damage to their opponent.
- Mastery Skill - Stormfront - Your cat unleashes the storm within, blacking out the sky with vicious clouds. This lasts for 3 turns. Up to 3 lightning strikes can hit your opponent per turn, dealing significant damage in total.
- Mastery Skill - Supercharged Beam - Your cat charges up for 3 turns before unleashing a massive beam of electricity, dealing devastating damage to their opponents. Your cat's abilities will be weakened for the rest of the battle as it takes up a lot of energy.
Light skills [Currently unavailable for creation with plot exceptions]
- Little Light - Your cat can produce light from within their body, projecting it from their paws, chest, tail, or mouth
- Sunbeam - Your cat can now weave rays of light from either the sun or self-produced, which can either temporarily blind an enemy or deal damage (50/50.
- Prism Prison - Your cat has learned how to make hard (solid) light, forcing your opponent to miss a turn. 2 turn cooldown.
- Luminous Singularity - Your cat can shoot out a burning ball of light, dealing damage to the opponent.
- Lifebringer - Your cat can use purifying light to cleanse themselves of any DoTs (Damage Over Time) or heal a small portion of missing health.
- Trick of the light - Your cat can bend the light beams for a chance to confuse the enemy, reducing their accuracy
- Mastery Skill - Banish the Shadows - Your cat unleashes their inner light, illuminating the battlefield for 5 turns. This reduces accuracy, deals small damage over time, and removes jump points for dark elementals.
- Mastery Skill - Divine Intervention - Your cat channels this ability for 2 turns before unleashing a purifying beam of light from above, dealing a large amount of damage.
