With ceremonies completed, it was time that the Windclan leader moved onto other tasks. He'd left camp with the intention of checking up on the tunnels and ensuring that they were sound, perhaps asking for a tour by their designated tunnelers. His clan's safety was his priority, and while tunnels sounded intimidating at first, they were far more safe than hunting above land constantly and being exposed to the wolves. Although their canine problem was still present, it was less than it was before. Hopefully before long, Stormstar and WindClan would be able to get rid of those mangy dogs once and for all.
However, the black smoke leader had happned upon an array of flowers at the borders, growing plentiful on the WindClan side. With greenleaf on its way, the wildflowers were in a full and beautiful bloom. So, the scatter-brained leader merely couldn't help himself- he had to enjoy nature's bounty. They smelled so sweet, and their colors were so pleasingly vibrant. He merely couldn't resist!
And so there the mighty WindClan leader sat, in a row of brilliant blooming wildflowers, intensely sniffing them and picking away the dead to ensure that the flowers grew tall and strong for seasons to come. Maybe he should've been made the honorary gardener, rather than WindClan's leader.
Naturally, he saved the best for the best- how the blue flowers reminded him of Ravenstar, of her enamoring periwinkle eyes...those lovely pools that she had so kindly donated to not one, but both of their sons. It was so hard to not fall in love with her all over again, every time he met her when she was such a generous mother and caring leader. His heart and soul belonged to her.
With Bumblekit still being too young to venture out of camp and into the dangerous territory, Stormstar took it upon himself to bring the territory to his son. While WindClan camp was lovely, his son wouldn't understand the true beauty of their home until he was able to wonder the land himself. By the time Bumblekit was an apprentice, the flowers might no longer be in bloom. So Stormstar simply had to share the best of what the land had to offer with his son while it lasted.
The silver-and-black leader sat among the flowers, purring to himself as he existed in a state of reverie that nobody but Ravenstar could possibly understand. He plucked the finest flowers for his son, only to pause mid-daydream.
...What was he supposed to be doing again?
"...Hare-dung." The gentle-natured leader mumbled to himself, realizing that he'd become distracted once again.

Dappledstripe
Dappledstripe wandered near the WindClan border, knowing she was trespassing. However, she wanted an adventure, and so she trespassed to get one. As she made her way towards the border, she could see another cat. She didn't recognize them at first, but then she realized it was the WindClan leader, Stormstar. Maybe she should take advantage of this and become his friend? Maybe she shouldn't? Thoughts on what to do filled the molly's brain, until she snapped out of it and began watching Stormstar. Dappledstripe noticed how he seemed to be lost in thought like she tended to be. Nevertheless, she still wanted to greet the leader.
But first, she wanted to observe him a bit more. Dappledstripe could see how he seemed to like flowers a lot, so she took note of that in her brain. She liked flowers herself, so she couldn't really blame him. Eventually, she chose to greet him. But wouldn't he recognize my scent? She thought before deciding she really didn't care as she walked up to him, smiling warmly.
"Hello there. My name is Dappledstripe. You must be Stormstar, am I correct?" Dappledstripe meowed before sitting down on her paws, waiting for a response. She hoped that the leader didn't attack her, because if he did, she was in major trouble.

Surely it wasn't just flower-picking he'd come out here for- well, he did that a lot, but this time he'd left with purpose. Stormstar was supposed to check up on something. Was it the RiverClan border, to ensure that they weren't intruding again? Or was he going to check for the outsider's scent again, to reassure Primrose that her little "friend" wasn't still lingering around? The long-legged black smoke frowned down at his collected flowers, squinting his eyes as he tried to force the gears in his mind to grind. C'mon, think, think...StarClan, why am I such a buffoon? Why can't I be as focused as my warriors? Stormstar mentally scolded himself for being such a hare-brain. He was more scatterbrained than the squirrels that roamed ThunderClan's territory, he swore by it. Those rodents could carry out a task better than he could. He instinctively brushed is whiskers against the violets petals of a wildflower, unknowingly becoming distracted once again. ...I don't think I've seen this one before. I wonder what kind of flower it is?The gentle leader abruptly straightened himself when a foreign scent graced his nostrils. ShadowClan? But what would they be doing here- WindClan had no beef with Nightstar, and their territory was far beyond the borders of both RiverClan and ThunderClan. Were they attempting to propose an alliance against ThunderClan, perhaps? Stormstar awkwardly kneaded the earth with his claws, clearing is throat self-consciously until an alien voice hit his ears. Stormstar whipped his head in the direction of the voice, spotting a mottled cat some couple of fox-lengths away. He promptly grew hot under his fur. ShadowClan would probably think of him as a total idiot now, if they hadn't before. StarClan, if Nightstar heard of this... "H-Hello." Stormstar returned the greeting before promptly rising to his paws, trying to hide his obvious embarrassment as he stepped from his patch of colorful wildflowers. "... You're a far distance from home- I assure you that WindClan u-upholds to its peaceful demeanor, but ThunderClan and RiverClan...not so much. I-I don't think Nightstar wants anymore complications with ShadowClan after the...border incident."Sierra

Dappledstripe Dappledstripe licked her paw, flicking an ear as she did so. Then she looked at the flowers Stormstar was picking, ignoring his last statement about the two aggressive clans. "Flowers sure are nice, huh? I like to pick them in my spare time usually." Dappledstripe mewed happily. She then continued to lick her paw before stopping to gently pick a flower and give it to Stormstar. "Here you go! I saw you admiring the blue ones, and I saw that one. Maybe you can put it to good use." Dappledstripe said with a smile before walking back to her spot.
She then stopped ignoring his statement and replied to it. "About your previous statement, I just came here because I wanted an adventure. I get real bored of the constantly burned territory in ShadowClan." She said, flicking her tail. The molly soon turned her head towards all the beautiful scenery around her. "It's not actually this pretty in ShadowClan. You guys are really lucky in my opinion." Dappledstripe huffed. Then she put on her smiling expression once again. She laid down onto the soft grass and rolled over, purring. "Your actually really cool, you know! I honestly thought you'd try to fight me off, but guess I was totally wrong." Dappledstripe laughed before rolling back onto her stomach.

Most leaders did leader-y things. Ravenstar ruled DarkClan as a selfless leader that surely all kits in the Valley looked up to. Nightstar was reasonable and always responsible with the decisions she made, even after her two warriors started a fire on ThunderClan's border. Even Bumblepelt and Lynxstar were decent at times, Stormstar was sure of it. But here he was, mighty leader of the wolf-infested WindClan, and he was picking flowers. Not assigning patrols, not navigating the wild world of politics. No- flower-picking. All of ShadowClan, not just this warrior before him, would surely think him incapable of leading such a widely regarded clan. He probably looked like a kit, or some love-sick apprentice who was peeling away the petals of a flower while thinking of their crush. ....Maybe WindClan would be better off without me. I wasn't even the one who thought of the tunneling system. Maybe WindClan's surviving better under my leadership, but... He was wrapped up in a world of self-doubt. "O-Oh, thanks." He responded, mildly startled that she willingly offered him a flower. "Yeah, W-WindClan is blessed to have such a nice landscape. I love my home." Unfortunately for him, WindClan's territory was full of distractions. Buzzing bees, sweet-smelling flowers, curious hares, wonderful sunsets...plenty of things to make Stormstar forget what he was originally going to do. Was he supposed to be checking the wolf situation out again? No...no, that hadn't been it. "I-I see. Wanderlust is a trait of most WindClan cats as well...but I must caution you. L-Lynxstar is not a cat to be trifled with. Y-You should consider your own safety, and that of your clan." The black smoke reminded the molly, hoping Lynxstar wouldn't use the ShadowClanner's scent as an excuse to have beef with WindClan, either. Was peace in the Valley so much to ask for? Would he have to constantly worry about the threat of lingering war when even Bumblekit was a warrior? ...Hopefully, Lynxstar would die of old age by then. Yeah. He'd have to be dead by then. Him? Cool? Nobody thought of him as "cool". Hell, he could recall how Lynxstar looked at him during every single Gathering. He looked at the WindClanner like he was a piece of meat, and not the nice way. "O-Oh, u-uhm...thank you. That means a lot." Quite frankly, he'd never been told by anyone that he'd been doing a good job as leader, or was a decent cat in general. Everyone always seemed so wrapped up in war and impending doom. It made him miss his brother all the more. Sierra

Dappledstripe
Dappledstripe realized what was with the leader's expression and smiled once again. "Hey c'mon. You're doing your best as a leader, and I know you're a great cat just by talking to you! Other cats don't know what their missing out on. Don't ever think you're a terrible leader just because you forget some stuff." She tried to comfort the leader, happily getting up and sitting in front of him. Then she sighed. "Even if you don't believe me, you're a great leader in my eyes. And I just met you up close! Those who see you as a mouse-brain don't deserve your pity." The molly stated in a stern and protective voice tone.
Then Dappledstripe decided it'd be best if they didn't stay on the topic. "Let's change the subject, shall we?" She added on before responding to herself. "What do you think about DarkClan? I personally think they shouldn't be judged as much as they are." Dappledstripe pointed out to Stormstar, sitting back down on the soft grass. She still wasn't really used to being on something soft as ShadowClan was filled with burnt grass, but she would get used to it eventually...hopefully.

Stormstar shuffled his salt-and-peppered paws around in the dry earth of WindClan's moorland. He wasn't really all that great- all his ideas to "better" WindClan hadn't even been his own. They were all from her. Everything great about him was because of her. And it pained him to know that he couldn't admit it, at the risk of ruining the reputation and clan she'd built from scratch. "Th-Thanks...although I don't think I have it within me to not show others pity. I-I don't like to be mean."Then, of course, Dapplestripe mentioned the clan- DarkClan. Just hearing about them made his heart flutter. "They're great!" He blurted out, only to surprise himself and quickly cower back with a flustered frown. "S-Sorry, I get a bit...passionate about the prejudice and what not they face." That was only half of it. A large part of his world resided within the secluded confines of DarkClan camp, withheld from him like some sacred treasure. That was what she was- treasure. "Everyone I've met there has been perfectly nice. It just...it isn't fair, how ThunderClan drove them out. They're cats like everyone else." Of course, he hadn't exactly met everyone. Spiderface seemed constantly irritated, but Stormstar knew how stubborn Ravenstar was. He also knew that Ebonystream seemed like a blood-thirsty demon. And Crowthroat... ...Stormstar never liked how he looked at Ravenstar. The black smoke feline heaved a small sigh. "I-I suppose I just wish I could make their lives...better." More or less, he wished with every molecule in his being that StarClan would be less cruel. That they would allow the dark elements to be accepted, that they'd allow his family to be whole like it should've been. Didn't they have the power to end war? Or were they intentionally turning a blind eye, in hopes that Lynxstar would obliterate DarkClan and the "stain" that it was on StarClan's legacy? Sierra

Dappledstripe
Dappledstripe nodded as he spoke on and on about DarkClan. "I agree. It really wasn't fair to them, as they can't choose their elements. None of us can." She mewed with a sigh coming afterwards. She didn't think it was at all fair to the DarkClan cats who wanted to live in peace and couldn't because of ThunderClan's ruthless leader. "I think of it like this. When there is dark there has to be light, right?" Dappledstripe exclaimed with her signature smile before adding on. "And when theres no dark, there cannot be light. Some cats just don't understand that." She finished, licking her paw once again.
She waited for a response, laying down in the grass as she did so. She wished more cats would see DarkClan as allies then they did enemies, but some cats just don't understand things. And so, she had to deal with it. Dappledstripe gently picked up a flower and put it behind her ear, still smiling. She could relate to Stormstar in many ways, which she appreciated wholeheartedly. Maybe one day the clans can be at peace? Probably not, but for her it's a good thought.

Just as a cat couldn't choose their element, nor could they choose whom they fell in love with. Stormstar had chosen Ravenstar- he might even go as far to say that she chose him. He had never felt feelings before, stirrings, nothing along those lines. He'd never had a crush as an apprentice. "Romance" was a concept he'd never considered until he spent all those evenings with her. Light. That was just it. There was no knowing what the new Light element might spell for DarkClan, given that they were stark opposites. Light was there to drive out the darkness. But who was to say the new element would oppose them? It was just a poor kit, after all. They had so much anticipation riding on their little shoulders, and they didn't even know it. Stormstar supposed that he could only hope and pray that Starclan would show mercy on them. Because they all knew that Starclan failed to show mercy on the element of darkness. "N-Nobody can control their fate, I'm afraid." But maybe that was for the better sometimes, even if there were sometimes rough roads ahead. He hadn't expected to meet Ravenstar, to fall madly head-over-tail for her. But he did. And it was the best thing he'd ever done. "I guess we can only pray that fate might play in our own favor, or try to make it better for everyone else."Sierra

Dappledstripe The she-cat sighed. "You know the light element, right? It must be quite intimidating for the kit who held the light element at this time as they didn't know what was even going on. They are too innocent." She replied, not knowing that Stormstar had thought of the light element. Why StarClan bestowed such a hassle on a measly kit who couldn't even defend themselves didn't make sense to Dappledstripe. She wished StarClan had more answers for everyone, but alas, they did not. "It's quite upsetting, is it not? The kit is so clueless of their possible strong power, and many are most likely trying to try to get them to learn about their power. It's just too much for a kit to know in my opinion." Dappledstripe sighed.
If the kit was experiencing this, she understood their frustration completely. Her father had trained her as an apprentice even if she had a mentor just to be the best. Her brother, Lightpaw, had died in one of his training assessments. She hated her father's guts for this reason. But she was somewhat scared of the tom. Dappledstripe frowned before moving the topic away from her mind. "I wish I could help every kit who is misjudged or overloaded, but alas I cannot. It's just the way things are I guess."

The black smoke shuffled his paws briefly, his mind wondering back to Bumblekit in his den. His son seemed anything but pressured by the idea of his element. His little carbon copy, in fact, seemed to be proud of being an air element, despite being raised alongside Fallowbird's rare hybrid children. Dare he say, he was proud of his son for being proud of what he had. "F-Fortunately, I don't think reality weighs on kits so much. I-It takes time for kits to discover and wield their element. I'm glad kits can enjoy their innocence- they've no right to h-have it taken from them." He didn't want to make Bumblekit an apprentice. He wished his son could enjoy the blissful innocence of being a kitten forever. He'd have to be exposed to the tragic discrimination that his mother faced. That was one of many things Stormstar wished he could prevent Bumblekit from being exposed to. Then again, the leader couldn't help but wonder- did the other kits ever torment Bumblekit for not having his own mother around? Surely Fallowbird's kits would be above that, she did seem to rear them well...but of course, the mere thought still made him nervous, concerned. "I-I imagine that the light kit's mother is still quite protective of them. Queens can be like bears, after all. Th-Their ferocity and love is always something to admire."He was more worried about the light element's future, especially when it came to training. Stormstar, of all cats, was extremely familiar with the blight that was consumption. His brother had been taken from it. Primrose, she...Stormstar tried to push the thought to the back of his head. No- they'd fix Primrose. He wouldn't lose another to consumption. He refused to let StarClan be so cruel. Sierra
