He believed that he had adapted well to being a father. He enjoyed spending time with his and Crowleap's adopted children, regardless of where the kittens might have come from. In fact, he hoped that maybe, in the future...
Well, he didn't want to force Crowleap into anything. The smoky deputy had a lot on his plate right now, and Silentsmoke believed that it was important to prioritize the well-being of Crowleap. Besides, once their kits became apprentices, the black warrior would have to focus entirely on his warrior duties once again. Seldom did he leave camp and patrol now that he had to watch their kittens. Silentsmoke wouldn't entrust them in just any old run-of-the-mill queen.
He had to keep a close eye on Quietstorm, too. His idiot twin sister had already endangered Shadowclan and threatened them with war after burning the ThunderClan border with her little buddy, Sunwing. It made Silentsmoke bitter, thinking about how his sister had no only betrayed his company, but trust as well. That should've been him on patrol with his sister, not that golden furball. Although he now enjoyed the company of Crowleap more than he'd like to admit, he was still jealous of how his sister had so quickly replaced him.
The feather-furred warrior drew in a deep breath of air, enjoying the crisp evergreen scent of their territory. It felt good to be out, even though he promptly began to fret over his kits in the back of his mind. Slowly, the shadowed tom began to creep across the landscape, in search of something tasty for his kits. They would surely dog him for some sort of meal after he returned.
And he'd make sure they got the best piece of prey he could find.
