PLUMKIT Plumkit giggled as she ran around camp. She loved to play, but not when the warriors looked at her like she was weird or strange. Nevertheless, she still ran around camp, playing with the moss ball she had gotten from the medicine cats' den as she did so.
The kit had assumed everyone could see perfectly well in the dark, but unfortunately for her, that was not the case. Once she got tired, she decided to see what stories Antpetal had in store. And so, she ran to where Antpetal was delighted. "Antpetal, Antpetal! Can you tell a story?" Plumkit exclaimed questioningly. Ioana003 |

Antpetal"Why, who is the one meowing so loudly? Hmm?" The Elder opened her eyes just a sliver to see what all the commotion was about. Not many visited the Elder's den often - she would usually talk to people while sunbathing or sharing tongues - and even fewer bothered to come at night, with the whole "asleep" thing.
Soft like the trinkling current of the river, the she-cat answered who she could only assume was a Kit, with such an amount of energy:
"A story, you say? And at such an outrageous hour?" There was no actual contempt behind the old cat's words. Being visited was always welcome, regardless of their rank or time of day. Long naps can always be taken at sunhigh when the rocks are warmest anyhow. But there was a flurry of ambition and cheerfulness below the fiery red fur of the Elder. Opportunities like these were rare... Yes, indeed they were.
"You know, my Elder's Elders used to tell them - which they then told me - that there is a being with so much power it could rival the dead..."

PLUMKIT Plumkit pinned her ears back in a nervous way, as she had not realized Antpetal had been asleep. "I'm sorry for waking you up Antpetal. I didn't know you were sleeping." Plumkit said with a wince before hearing that Antpetal wasn't mad. In fact, she had agreed to tell the kit a story. Plumkit quickly sat down in a loaf position in front of Antpetal, waiting for her to start the story.
Once Antpetal had said 'being that can rival the dead', Plumkit looked at the elder in awe. She was starting to like this story more then she thought she would! And so, she waited for the elder she-cat to continue telling it, her ear flicking in excitement. |
