Physical Appearance
Brief Description: Brown tabby tom with dark golden eyes
In-depth Description: Wolfshade is a large, muscular tom with a thick, shaggy pelt consisting of mixed hues of brown that are darker toward his back and lighter toward his underbelly. His black tabby markings are majoritively faint and hard to distinguish, however they are more prominant on his legs and face, and even form black tipped paws and black patches on his withers and the back of his head, encompassing his average-sized chart triangular ears. His most prominant marking, however, is on his face, where the brown gives way to an ashen grey marked with dark black stripes, with faint light brown outlining his dark golden eyes and fading in from his throat toward his cheeks and chin. Most of his scars are well hidden by his pelt aside from a shallow V in his left ear, a thin scar across the bridge of his nose, and three claw like marks along his right flank where the fur didn’t grow back quite right - though this is less noticeable. One thing that certainly grabs attention is the confident way he holds himself, and the cool stares he gives that can freeze any cat in their pawsteps.

Personality description: The most easily noticeable thing about Wolfshade is how cold and distant he is. Generally he will keep to himself, preferring the antisocial life of independence and admitting lonliness. Still, he hardly minds being alone, in fact should one not insist on bugging him he can prove himself to be patient and incredibly observant upon necessity, being quite knowing that rushing things never gets the best results, as well as proving his great intelligence and quick-thinking. With such traits, it’s unsurprising that Wolfshade pertains his best skill in battle, being as brave, cunning and calculating as he is, however his strong intelligence and ability to slip by without notice makes him a skilful hunter indeed and a well-rounded warrior. He knows he is an asset, and he is quite confident about it. In fact, he holds no shame about much at all, even proving quite brazen at times in his ill-temper and icy persona, as well as holding no hesitation toward honesty of any kind, no matter how brutal or upsetting. His impassive nature can easily drive cats against him and irk them, but he hardly cares. He is persuasive when he needs to be, and otherwise simply prefers not to bother with others. If they need such convincing, they’re hardly worth his time. When it comes to strangers, Wolfshade is admittedly quite prone to skepticism, though he is more accepting of fellow Dark elementals and much more harsh in his judgement toward rogues and other clan cats harbouring other elements. When it comes to his clan he can be surprisingly loyal, catching others off guard because generally he doesn’t tend to care, and will defend his clan with a ferocity and determination that honestly can be terribly frightening. When it comes to spiritual belief in entities such as Starclan, Wolfshade remains strictly and shamelessly irreligious until their existence is proven to him. Then, he would simply accept it and move on with his usual disinterested air.

History: Wolfkit was born in Thunderclan to an Earth elemental warrior named Oak- and an Air elemental warrior named Moon-, alongside his only sibling Willowkit. At first, their life was fine. They were innocent little kits, playing games and being taken care of by the clan. That was, untill Willowkit’s Dark powers were discovered, and Wolfkit’s in turn when he tried to defend his sister from a group of apprentices hurling all sorts of abuse and insults. From then on, life wasn’t so easy. Their father went from supportive and caring to cold and indifferent, spiteful even. Their mother Moon- tried to support her kits, but pressure from other queens and warriors, not to mention her mate, caused her pushover attitude to kick in and let everyone trample all over her - and in turn, her kits. So, she was distant from them, gave them little affection, and often stammered reluctant agreements to whatever anyone else would say about them. Wolfkit learned from early on that they only had each other, and as his sister inherited much of their mother’s traits, he had to be strong for the both of them. So he was.
Apprenticeship was no easier, and it was a wonder the siblings weren’t chased out. However, they were careful with their elements - as much as they could be without training - and as such, they were tolerated. To an extent. Finding a mentor that would agree to train the pair was just as difficult, but eventually an Earth elemental warrior took on the challenge, along with a Fire elemental to train Willowpaw. Badger- taught Wolfpaw to be strong and to stand up for himself, but there was nothing he could do for the element his apprentice harboured. So, with his sister by his side, Wolfpaw made a habit of sneaking out at night to visit a Shadowclan warrior, Bramble-. This warrior became their honorary mentor, teaching them to control their element as their own Thunderclan mentors taught the siblings to hunt and fight. As they grew closer, extra moves for fighting and hunting were learnt from Bramble-, setting Wolfpaw decidedly ahead of many other Thunderclan apprentices. He may be a Dark elemental, but he was an asset. That much couldn’t be denied.
However, the same could not be said about his meek, frail sister, and their father took note of this. With the death of Willowpaw came the death of Oak-, and even as he lied to the rest of the clan, Wolfpaw had no qualms in telling Moon- precisely what happened. She wouldn’t tell a soul, he knew this, and she didn’t. Yet she was now definitely afraid of her young son, especially as he grew into a warrior. He did as he pleased, without ever batting an eye, and this scared her. However, while he hadn’t earned his clan’s trust due to his element, he had certainly earned some respect due to his skill and the mysterious way he seemed to have mastered his element by himself. However, he wouldn’t be sticking around much longer. Fear and reluctant respect only got you so far, after all.
Admittedly, Wolfshade had been surprised when things first started changing. He’d always been wary at gatherings, even if he never outwardly seemed to care, but one cat made him glad he’d insisted on attending. Ravenwing. He’d been dubious when the Shadowclanner approached him at a gathering, but he remembered her, cast away from Thunderclan. She was a Dark cat, somehow recovered from near consumption, and she had plans. Big plans, that she was determined to fulfill. Even Wolfshade could respect the determination of the younger warrior, so he agreed. When Ravenstar recieved her lives and became leader of Darkclan, he was ready to stand loyally by her side, taking his apprentice Echopaw with him. It was time for Dark elementals to take a stand, and he would join them without hesitation.
