Crowthroat
- My body's slipping off the edge -
Another day had come and gone. Crowthroat had already sent off the first set of night patrols, opting to take the second set of patrols later in the evening. Should all go smoothly, he should be back by dawn to check in with Magpiekit.
He'd grown fond for his adoptive son, despite the secrecy behind his biological father. Crowthroat was still hurt by Ravenstar's decision, the she-cat having crushed his heart by choosing another tom over him, who didn't seem to care enough to love her or their son. She had made peace with her decision, and the acting deputy simply had to accept it and move on. Only time would heal those wounds.
Crowthroat settled by the river's edge, resting his head on his paws. He was more exhausted than he'd ever admit. Taking patrols out during the night, organizing the day patrols, sleeping from dawn until sunhigh, then training Halfpaw until sunset had become his daily routine. The tom was tired. He needed a break.
Before he knew it, he'd already begun to drift off to the gentle sound of the river.
