ShadowClan was a lot different from RiverClan, Redmist had learned.
She supposed that it made perfect sense - they were two different clans after all. Perhaps it was her young naivety that made her believe that a clan was a clan and that's all that was. Or perhaps she hadn't paid attention during a training session? Either way, she was certainly paying for it now. When she first arrived, she'd just assumed that since ShadowClan was somewhat swampy that they'd at least have minnows and the like; a rude awakening that was when she'd been told that they lived on frogs and toads... She was still getting used to the taste.
Another thing that she'd learned was that while individuality was celebrated here just as much, any differing opinions would be loudly contested. Thankfully she had the sense to keep her head down during the first few moons, but she'd been witness to quite a few shouting matches both in and out of camp. There wasn't much civility to be found in ShadowClan - in fact, she could count how many cats she considered to be sane on one paw. It was indeed a change but over time, she found it to be a welcome one. Being one of the few Water elementals in the clan meant she spent more time watching training sessions progress and the like - she could just practice hunting on her own time and work from there.
That being said, there were times where she wondered how RiverClan was doing. Did many cats miss her? Did some of them resent her for leaving? Did Antpetal resent her? She certainly didn't regret her decision but now that leafbare had come and gone, it was hard not to miss some of the things that made RiverClan... well, RiverClan.
So now she sat under the moonlight with the more nocturnal members of ShadowClan. Not particularly doing anything, just thinking absentmindedly.
