*History: Being born in such a separated, dysfunctional family meant that Ebonyshade was seemingly doomed from the start. He was unaware of his two siblings who lived in WindClan until his first gathering, all he knew of in his first six moons of life was Brushfire and Reedkit. Brushfire was in no means a good mother, scorning he and his sister whenever she didn’t have to feed them and berating them for even the tiniest little mistake. He did his best to shield Reedkit from their mother’s wrath on many occasions, which in turn caused him to develop thick skin to most insults. It was only when he met Ravenfoot and Ashpaw that he understood the reason for his mother’s ire; they were half clan. He despised his father and half-siblings for the seemingly carefree life that they lived, jealous that they had it much easier than they did - or so he thought.


One night, under the light of Silverpelt, Ashpaw snuck into ShadowClan camp and convinced Reedpaw to run away to RiverClan together. He never knew why and perhaps he never will - the only ones who knew the details of that night would be Ashpaw, who made it across the river safely and Reedpaw, who didn’t. When he heard news of Reedpaw’s demise, he swore that Ashpaw, Ashsong now, would know the true extent of what she’d done. She had taken away his only rock for her own selfish desires and he would be happy to return the favor.
