Emberpaw was starting to grow restless.
Of course he didn’t envy his mentor in the slightest - having to care for three entire kits sounded like torture by itself, so he had no qualms watching the other apprentices training with their mentors and practicing what he’d observed on his own. But he couldn’t help but feel a bit jealous - his peers got to experience having an actual mentor while he was stuck on the sidelines, Nightstar not seeing the need to assign him a temporary mentor while Silentsmoke was tending to the kits. Thanks a lot, Crowleap. He snorts. Who was he kidding? If he wasn’t doing that, he’d probably be mooning over Crowleap or rushing after Quietstorm to fix her “mistakes”. As if ThunderClan wasn’t getting too big for its britches.
Today, he’d decided to laze around in the apprentice den - since he wasn’t exactly needed anywhere, he’d decided that he was going to catch up on some sleep. Maybe Sootpaw would stop by later and he could share with Emberpaw what he’d learned.
