It had only started with a cough.
That’s how it always starts - a dry, wheezing cough that only seems to be a one off event. It’d originated with an elder who ventured over to the remains of the Elm Sliver, to reminisce of what once was. When they’d returned, they complained to Spiderface about a sore throat, to which the medicine cat gave them a dose of honey and sent them on their way. Unbeknownst to them, however, was that this was no mere sore throat. The infection spread to the other elders and progressed rapidly, each one showing signs of fever and began to wheeze as the sickness claimed their lungs. From the elders, it spread to the apprentices and to the apprentices, it spread to the warriors. Now, an epidemic has fallen upon DarkClan, with a sickness that was known only to StarClan.
Most cats are only in the beginning stages, yet the longer left untreated will lead to loss of appetite, delirium and swelling of the throat which can death. Clan members are encouraged to quarantine, but be warned: Cats can and will die from this sickness.
