A storm had been forecasted by storm elementals the night before and Duskflower had prayed that it would roll in after her dawn patrol. Much to her dismay, it had started not too long ago.
The molly had gathered her companions after grooming herself quickly, enough to be presentable. The rain would ruin it once more. As soon as everyone was up and ready, Duskflower lead the way out of camp.
They were to remark both borders this morning and observe any activity from the wolves. She decided to start with the ThunderClan border, then they'd work their way back up along the river to check the Hare Plains. There was no telling when RiverClan would try their luck at stealing their land again.
"Let's make this quick, yes? We don't need to be catching any colds out here." She sighed. The ThunderClan border wasn't too far now. Hopefully the rain wouldn't seep into her bones by then.

Willowstripe padded along quietly, ears perked as she surveyed the land around her. The rain didn’t help with scenting at all, and they’d most likely have to send another patrol when the storm stopped to remark the border - but it was still a good idea to check now. She’d had Kestrelpaw stay in camp for this patrol to change out the elder’s bedding and she’d noticed that a few of the other warriors on patrol had done the same. Maybe it would’ve been a good idea to bring them out anyway? The experience would’ve helped them in the future, wouldn’t it? She shakes her head minutely. No, with the wolves still running around, they couldn’t afford to lose any young blood. They couldn’t afford to lose any blood but she’d make sure none were ever spilled on the moors again. Not if she could help it. Her blank eyes look up as Duskflame speaks, nodding in agreement as she picks up her pace. ”The rain’s going to wash away the scent markers at this rate,” she murmurs, mostly to herself. fern Thorne Ioana003 Perch.´ |

You’re something out of a dream ####  Being up this early to patrol the borders was not on Mossleap's bucket list, but here she was. The tortoiseshell figured it was better than sharing the same air as Steef. As she followed Duskflower's lead, the younger molly was plotting her next move against her father. Maybe she'd go out and find some wet moss to put in his nest. Oh! Maybe she'd leave some spiky ice in there. Hopefully he'd scrape himself on it. Hopefully it got infected.
Bored, Mossleap's gaze fell on a puddle ahead. She froze it, eagerly sliding across it on all fours. "Oh yeah, this is a lot faster than walking." She purred. "If you wanna make this quick, I can race you to the border." She wriggled excitedly.
She flicked her ear as a sound in the distance caught her attention. "And if the wolves come, I'll kick their asses for us. I've got a score to settle." Messing with my head |

Scorchsun was a bit uneasy, turning his head at every little sound that he heard. His tail was dragging allong the ground and he felt so uncomfortable as it now was dirty. He raised his tail only to see mud dripping from it. The rain was very annoying and frustrating but he tried to see the plus sides. The wolfs wouldnt smell them that easily, would they? And the rain made sure no fires would come. On the other paw, the rain beat down and the ground became muddy.
He flicked his ear at the conversation. "Id also like to get this done quickly." He chimed in. "Even tough i wouldnt call myself ´quick´"
Scorchsun chuckled at the idea of a cat being a match for wolfs. "Im sure they would whimper and go crying for their mama" He let out a small laugh. The tom put on a face with the impression that he was considering Mossleap could actually do it, he didnt actually think so but just in case.
The mud was now so irritating to him that he stopped for a moment to get his face cleaned up.

Duskflower nodded at Willowstripe's remark. It was likely that their efforts were in vain, however orders were orders. Someone had to do the dawn patrol. The chances of a ThunderClan patrol "forgetting" where there borderlines were and pushing into WindClan territory were high enough as is. More conflict was the last thing WindClan needed. "I do agree with you, Willowstripe. Unfourtunately, it is something that has to be done."
Her gaze fell onto Mossleap, watching as the molly began to slide on the ice she'd made. She shook her head with a sigh. "Mossleap, dear, now is not the time for games. You can do whatever you're doing once we get back to camp." She flicked an ear, shaking out her pelt.
"If the wolves cause us any trouble, we will flee into the nearest tunnel entrance. If they were able to take out an entire patrol with experienced warriors and Heatherstar, our group doesn't stand a chance. Understood?"
