Only time will tell if we’re all just cynics on the run 118  Ravenstar padded into camp, gritting her teeth. She'd been trying her best to hide her wound as she walked through the group of cats, though she knew she couldn't keep it up for long. Blood was trickling down her shoulder from where the open wound was. Damned RiverClan cats. She thought in annoyance. How could she let herself be bested by a mere RiverClan warrior who looked no older than an apprentice?
She pushed her way into the Medicine Den and flicked her ear. "Spiderface? I've got a small problem I'd appreciate your help with." She grumbled. Ravenstar wasn't in the best mood and her pride was honestly a little hurt, though she was sure Spiderface would understand. If we’re all just cynics come undone |

ThorneSpiderface had been organizing his herb store again when Ravenstar walked in. He spared a quick glance at her before returning to his business. He flicked his tail to a space a little ways behind him as he began putting the herbs he wouldn't need away. "Go sit over there, I'll get to you in a second." he said, bemused. He turned to grab a moss ball, setting the herbs aside for a poultice. Plucking one from his store, freshly wet, he carried it over to the other herbs and set it aside, beginning to chew the herbs up into the poultice. He spit the poultice out into his paw, raking his eyes over Ravenstar's body. She didn't look too happy. Then again, not many cats were happy getting a wound. Grabbing the moss ball, he finally turned to face Ravenstar. He began nosing at her, pulling away once he found the wound. He dabbed the poultice into her shoulder, looking up at her for any reaction. He reached a lanky paw out to find a cobweb, using the moss ball to get rid of any dried blood off of her shoulder. He wrapped the cobweb around her shoulder, craning his neck away to grab some catchweed seed to keep it in place. "Try not to move around too much, you'll irritate the wound if the catchweed gets into it," he said, satisfied with his work. He sat down and wrapping his tail around his paws, looking at her like a queen scolding her kit. "Now," he started. "Would you care to explain?

Only time will tell if we’re all just cynics on the run 284 Ravenstar sat down and waved her tail as she let Spiderface do his work. She glanced around as he began to mix herbs into poultices. The dark grey she-cat had never been interested in medicine. She never really had a reason to care except for her close call with consumption as an apprentice.
Her muscles tensed slightly when Spiderface applied the poultice. It stung slightly, but it was nothing compared to the pain of consumption. She flicked her ear when he spoke. She didn't enjoy the look in her medicine cat's eyes, though it was understandable. It was almost Leafbare, he didn't need to be wasting his herbs on small wounds like her's.
"A damned RiverClan warrior attacked me while I patrolled the border. He was an Earth Elemental, shot some sharp rocks at me. I got him a lot worse than he got me though." She growled. Ravenstar twitched her whiskers. "We need to do something about them. RiverClan is our biggest problem at the moment." If we’re all just cynics come undone |

Thorne Spiderface's whiskers twitched as he rolled his eyes. Getting to his paws, he turned and began gathering the rest of his herbs. As he turned, he flicked Ravenstar's nose with his tail. "Calm yourself, Ravenstar." he said. He picked up a few beech leaves and began wrapping the spare herbs into it. He was quiet for a moment, reviewing his herbs, what he had and what he needed. "I'll need to visit Windclan soon. I'll need more Chickweed and Ragwort leaves before Leafbare comes. The elders will need it." he murmured to himself. As he finished putting away his herbs, he turned back to his leader, his eyes hard.
"Riverclan will know of our strength in time, but we must be patient. Windclan is weakening them over land that those fish-eaters want more than they actually need, but Riverclan won't give up so easily. We'll sneak in to deliver the final blow when Windclan has defeated them and Riverclan won't be a problem anymore."He felt slightly guilty for plotting against his birthclan but quickly squashed that sympathy back down. Riverclan brought this upon themselves for being biased hypocrites. He had no mercy towards them now.

Spiderface would need to cross through RiverClan to get these herbs or go around from Five Stones. Even if he was a Medicine Cat, there was no promise that RiverClan wouldn't attack him. You could never underestimate any other elemental. They couldn't be trusted. "Can't you go to ShadowClan and see if they have any? At least they trust us."
As he spoke of his plan, Ravenstar flicked her ear in approval. "I'll discuss it with Tawnylight once the time is right, Spiderface. Thank you for your input." She meowed. If we’re all just cynics come undone |

ThorneSpiderface looked at Ravenstar and shook his head. "I'm afraid not. With them fighting Thunderclan, Shadowclan needs all of the herbs it has. I could collect from Thunderclan, but I don't feel... comfortable going to their territory. Besides, leafbare is approaching fast and I'm sure Mistypelt won't mind sharing a few herbs. She might even enjoy such company, you never know. The life of a medicine cat can be a lonely one at times." he said, shrugging. He gingerly got to his paws, his whiskers twitching in satisfaction. "I was a warrior before I was a medicine cat, you know. I'm always thinking of battle plans. For example, if Thunderclan decides to be foolish enough to attack, we could use the very ground beneath us to our advantage, because they'd rather be caught dead than step foot in our territory." he chuckled. He bowed his head to Ravenstar, "But you're very welcome, Ravenstar."
