Heatherstar hadn’t exactly had a destination in mind. However, she found herself gradually heading her way toward the Thunderclan border. Perhaps it was the way her mind had wandered that directed her paws in such a way. She’d been worried lately, about the strange light, and the disappearance of the warriors from both Thunderclan and Darkclan. What if it was her clanmates next? What if Shadowclan took this newfound weakness as a good excuse to attack Thunderclan? If Thunderclan, Darkclan and Shadowclan all went to war...would she and her clanmates step up to defend Thunderclan, to stop them from being driven out and upsetting the balance? Every scenario set her pelt tingling with frustration, and she shuddered at her roaming thoughts. There were too many dark corners for them to crawl into, and they weren’t things she could escape pondering over. These problems weren’t even relevant to Windclan! She could just close off her borders, set up an extra patrol or two, and leave the others to their own problems. However, it did effect her clan, even if she chose to ignore it. It effected all the clans. And leaving everyone to destroy each other simply wasn’t Windclan’s way. They were supposed to be the peacemakers, the mediators. There didn’t seem to be much peacemaking lately. Sighing softly, the golden molly was only pulled from her thoughts when Thunderclan scent strengthened, carried to her on the breeze she didn’t realise she was softly manipulating. Perhaps part of her mind had been on hunting as she wandered in thought. Prey had been scarce lately, after all. Still, despite the distance, the breeze she gently tugged at as easily as controlling the breath within her lungs carried a stronger scent, a fresher one. Pausing, Heatherstar twitched her whiskers, tentatively drawing the scent closer as she narrowed her eyes. Near the border, she spotted movement. It was too distant to see clearly, other than the shape of a cat, though the scent the breeze carried to her was unmistakable. Setting her stance to one of more confidence, the Windclan leader rose her head and tail high, before bounding down the slope toward the trees, and ultimately, the border. Perhaps this was her chance to subtly find out if any battles were brewing around them. After all, Briarsong was Thunderclan’s deputy, and more reasonable than her leader, it would seem. Once within greeting distance, Heatherstar dropped the gentle breeze around her and dipped her head, tail waving in greeting as she slowed to a walk and approached the border. At a respectable distance, she halted, though she did not yet relax and sit down. “Briarsong. Wandering thoughts as well?” she meowed in way of greeting, though it was clear she didn’t expect any detailed answer from the young deputy. Jinx

Briarsong control yourself take only what you need from it Briarsong padded through ThunderClan territory, allowing her paws to go wherever they wished. She didn't have a set destination or purpose. Perhaps she could say she was checking on the recovery of the territory after the fire. It didn't make much sense for her to be doing so near the WindClan border; it hadn't been touched by the blaze. She sighed. She'd most likely go and try to catch something to bring back to the Clan. It was leafbare after all.
The tortoiseshell she-cat leaped onto a log, kicking up snow as she jumped. She shook out her pelt and looked around. The trees were beginning to thin out as she got closer to WindClan. Her green eyes fell on a familliar figure that was approaching the border. Was that Heatherstar?
She jumped down from the fallen tree, landing neatly in the snow. Briarsong approached the leader calmly. She knew better than to be on the defensive. WindClan almost rarely acted without reason, and she couldn't imagine what ThunderClan could have done to provoke them. Unless Lynxstar had done something and refused to tell her. Honestly, she wouldn't be surprised if that was the case.
Briarsong waved her thick tail politely. "Greetings, Heatherstar. I suppose they are for me as well." She sighed. The tortoiseshell flicked an ear. "What brings you to the border today? No trouble from RiverClan, I hope." She meowed politely.

At the friendly greeting from the tortoiseshell deputy, part of Heatherstar was relieved, even if she didn’t show it in the slightest twitch of her calm, neutral expression. She didn’t wish to fight with the Thunderclanner - or anyone, for that matter. Clan rivalries between the rest were bad enough, and already some of her warriors had begun taking sides, even if only a little. While Heatherstar personally didn’t despise of the Dark elementals...some of her clanmates did. She respected their opinions, but she if war came about, she didn’t wish her clan to be apart of it if such could be avoided. “No, their new representative must have more on their paws than petty border squabbles,” she offered, ears twitching slightly as she cocked her head at the molly. “But how is Thunderclan faring? I’m sure it must be horrible to have warriors go missing so suddenly....”Sighing softly, Heatherstar shook her head. “Is Lynxstar doing alright?” Mostly, she just hoped he hadn’t gone raving mad and closed off against all his warriors. He seemed like he was heading down that path. However, perhaps that was just a build up of the fact he went to a gathering while sick, had half his territory burned out, and now an entire patrol of warriors go missing. She could just imagine her harmless curiosity earning her own clan a war. Good thing she spoke with Briarsong, then, and not Lynxstar, though already part of her was tempted to retract the statement. However, she kept herself standing tall, and instead allowed some concern to touch her gaze, hoping the molly wouldn’t think she was seeking out Thunderclan’s weaknesses or something equally rash and foolish. Briarsong Control yourself, take only what you need from it Briarsong dipped her head politely. "Glad to hear that their new representative has some common sense. You never know what sort of state of mind RiverClan is in when they elect a new one." She said. The tortoiseshell she-cat never understood their thinking when they changed how they organized their leadership. It was moons before she was born, yes, but it still seemed so foreign. Wouldn't it put their Clan at a disadvantage if they didn't have a leader who was directly connected with StarClan? They had their Medicine Cats, yes, but she knew leaders often got guidance from their ancestors as well.
She flicked her ear before thinking carefully of what she would say next. Briarsong didn't want to give Heatherstar the impression that the loss of a few warriors weakened ThunderClan even more so after the fire, but her heart ached for her missing Clanmates. "We're doing as well as one can imagine." Briarsong meowed, flicking her tail. Balancing search parties, growth patrols, hunting patrols, and border patrols was a hassle, especially when a number of their most capable warriors were gone.
"And Lynxstar is doing well, Sagewhisker is a very gifted medicine cat. He's made a full recovery from his sickness." She blinked. "Shall I pass on your greetings to him later?" She asked.

At Briarsong’s response, Heatherstar nodded in understanding. She couldn’t imagine entirely, but she had an open enough mind to picture it. She remember once when many of her warriors were sick or injured in Leafbare, and how hard it had been to keep up regular patrolling and hunting. Everyone grew tired quickly and were more prone to the illnesses others already had. She was glad she’d had such a good medicine cat at the time, and that was not a fact that had changed. Having warriors missing in leafbare after a terrible fire....part of her worried for Thunderclan. Darkclan, too, admittedly. Chasing away her thoughts, she tilted her head just slightly at the molly’s question, tail tip flicking absently. “If you wish,” she mused calmly, “though I’m sure he has much more to worry about than the trivial greetings of Windclan.” That, and he hadn’t seemed entirely...stable, of late. Would he take something so mundane as a potential threat? “I am glad he has recovered, though.” With a flick of her ear, Heatherstar glanced toward the gathering place, once again imagining the great flash of light. “I only hope we can find out what happened....”Jinx

Briarsong control youself take only what you need from it Thyra sorry for the late reply Briarsong sighed and nodded. "It's certainly a lot better to listen to him complain about a real problem with DarkClan rather than about being taken care of, that's for sure." She chuckled. She flicked her tail and twitched her whiskers. "I don't want to believe that Ravenstar was behind this. I wouldn't think she'd go to such drastic measures to get her message across, despite her history." She meowed. "But she has been able to hurt cats to get her way before. What's stopping her now?" Briarsong asked, mainly to herself.
Her gaze darkened as she thought of the incident that got young Ravenpaw kicked out of ThunderClan. She knew it was for the best, but she couldn't help but think that perhaps that was what pushed the she-cat to do everything she had done.

Heatherstar nodded, though there was no glimmer of amusement in her eyes. Or any reaction, really. Instead, she regarded the deputy thoughtfully, reflected on her words, and said nothing. She was right, of course, but not entirely. Sometimes it was better when leaders fretted over something trivial - it meant that things were safe and alright.. Yet they weren't/ Warriors had disappeared without a trace or explanation, and two clans were at each others throats - three in a way. And with the way this leafbare was going...how long would it be before such violence descended upon the heads of her clanmates as well. Already their borders were threatened with an outer turmoil, one with enough viciousness and rage to rival a war with a neighboring clan. They still stood strong, but how long was it before they reached the stage at which a war could drive them entirely away? Would any clan deign to pause their bickering and help them? She sorely doubted it. Windlcan stood alone. Casting her own turbulent thoughts aside, Heatherstar flicked an ear as she listened to Briarsong continue. She believed Ravenstar could be at fault? Foolish. Still, beyond a flick of her tail tip and a slight shift in the set of her ears, the calm leader didn't allow her thoughts to unsettle her demeanor. Still, that wouldn't stop her from speaking her mind, especially not to someone perhaps a little more receptive than Lynxstar himself. "Whether or not she is capable of such an atrocious act, or if she would even consider such a thing, I do not believe she had any more sway in this than anyone else." Shaking her head, the leader glanced once more toward the island, before her gaze drifted across the way toward the clan in question. "There was no trace of a battle - no blood or fur, no torn up earth or remnants of elements. In fact, the area was cleaner than it had ever been - a dark cat could not accomplish such a feat in battle, nor could any other element. There would be some evidence of a fight, unless both groups left together willingly, in which it is neither clans fault at all. It is a stretch to believe that cats would disappear out of nowhere, but who is to say it is impossible, with that bright flash of light and how pure the island was...it wouldn't be the first time, just the first we ourselves have lived."It was then that her gaze drifted back to Briarsong, and she looked at her seriously, adding a weight to her question. "Does any part of you truly believe that Ravenstar stole away Thunderclan's patrol? She too has cats missing, you could see it in her eyes and hear it in her voice that she worried for her own - what points the fault toward either clan?"Jinx
