Another cold day. Ravenstar hardly cared anymore. She grew up in the sheltered territories of ThunderClan and ShadowClan, but DarkClan was at the foot of the mountains. They did have some protection against the harsh winds. She shook her head. It was time for a ceremony. The dark coloured she-cat leaped up onto the Perching Rock and flicked her ears. It was late enough in the day for all cats, Night-Hunters and Day-Patrollers to be awake. "Let all cats old enough to control the Darkness gather around the Perching Rock to hear my words!"Once most of her Clanmates were present, she flicked her tail. Some were on patrol looking for something for the Clan to eat. She was fine with their priorities. "We have an apprentice ceremony that needs to be done. Squirrelleaf and Bramblefeather's son has finally reached his sixth moon and is ready to become an apprentice. Echokit, please step forward."Ravenstar waited for the small grey and white tom to approach, giving him a soft smile. The younger cats had so much life and joy in their eyes. "Echokit, from this moment on until you earn your warrior name, you will be known as Echopaw."
Ravenstar thought for a moment about the mentor. She had someone in mind before the ceremony, but she decided against it. "Crowthroat, you are ready to take on an apprentice. You will be the mentor to Echopaw. I trust you will pass on your loyalty and skill to this apprentice."Jinx littlegaypuff |

Crowthroat
burning bright
as we reach out for the same horizon Crowthroat padded into the clearing as he heard Ravenstar call a Clan Meeting. He sat down and pricked his ears as she spoke, always happy to watch an apprentice ceremony. He had seen Echokit playing around the camp a few times. The little tom had spirit.
He was shocked when his name was called. Me? A mentor? Crowthroat wasn't expecting an apprentice. Was Ravenstar certain? He supposed what was done was done, and he couldn't change anything. He just hoped he wouldn't let anyone down. He hadn't had an apprentice before.
Crowthroat approached Echopaw with a slight smile. He touched his nose against the smaller tom's as per tradition. "I'll teach you all that I know." He meowed solemnly. He flicked his tail before speaking again. "Did you want to go out and explore the territory today?" |

Echopaw - 6 Moons - Apprentice - Jinx Echokit had been playing mossball with his mother, Squirrelleaf, when he heard Ravenstar's summons. He let out a soft gasp, as he guessed the meeting would be about his apprenticeship. He hurried closer to the Perching Rock and looked up at his leader with round, excited eyes. He could not stop the wide smile that spread across his muzzle as Ravenstar confirmed his thoughts. Forcing himself to stay calm and as mature as he could, the young tom stepped forward as requested. He held his breath in anticipation as he waited for his mentor to be announced. He did not have any cat in mind, none that he particularly wanted more than anyone else. As soon as his mentor was announced, Echopaw reached his nose up to touch with Crowthroat as the warrior came over. "Thank you, I'll be the best apprentice in the history of the clans!" He claimed excitedly, kneading the ground. He gasped softly, he had always looked forward to the day he got to see the territory. "Yes please! Do you think we'll see any other cats?" He asked curiously. |

Featherpaw felt ecstatic at the prospect of a new denmate, she had seen Echokit playing in the nursery when she was cleaning out the nursery or bringing prey to the queens. He seemed to have strong hind legs, and could jump pretty high. Sitting near the Perching Rock, she could see the small tom's eyes fill with excitement as Ravenstar spoke. Featherpaw's eyes wandered to the warriors sitting around her, trying to figure out who the gray and white cat's mentor would be. Her fluffy tail flicked as she heard her leader announce Crowthroat as Echopaw's mentor, she could see why Ravenstar chose him, the two of them made a good pair. As she watched the two cats touch noses, Featherpaw stood up and began walking over, wanting to congratulate her new denmate. "Hey! Congrats on becoming an apprentice, we're denmates now so I hope we can be friends!"

Moonleaf slowly moved from the den, hearing the call for a gathering about the rock. Smoothing her long, pale marbled pelt, the She-cat made her way to the rock, looking at those gathered with a curious eye. Her heart soared for the young cat, glad to see a kit coming in to their own, for Darkclan accepted the kits that belonged here well. Being among others that accepted you for who you were was a blessing from Starclan in and of itself. Once she was in a spot that suited, she rested herself to sit. Let her watch for now. Crowthroat was lucky indeed, for the young apprentice would be sure to be bright and delightful, "Congratulations, to both of you."
