Lightningheart ran through the meadow, wind blowing against his sleek tabby fur, the muscles in his legs moving smoothly as the warrior bounded across the grassy land. The scent of rabbit blowing through the breeze, the fluffy brown mammal was just ahead of him, desperately trying to escape the tom. A jolt of adrenaline coursed through the dark ginger warrior as he propelled himself forward, claws outstretched, and pounced on the frightened prey. Quickly ending its life, Lightningheart sat on his haunches and took deep gulps of air, grass rippled across the meadows and the glare of the sun made the field look like a rushing river. His fluffy tail flicked contentedly and his yellow eyes glowed, even during the harsh conditions of leaf-bare, he was still able to provide for his clan and. The sound of rustling grass caught the tom's attention and he quickly look towards the source of the noise, "Hello?" he called out. It wasn't uncommon to come across a fellow clanmate out on the plains of Windclan, and the warrior was happy to have some company.

snakepad Snakepad crouched, ears alert, as he lay there quietly, a golden mass among the green, snow-capped grass, listening for a second rustling. He could smell the mouse, but due to the slight breeze it was hard to pinpoint where it was; therefore, he had to rely on his hearing to detect its location.
After a while, he heard it. Funnily, it was approaching him, as both the scent and the noise was getting louder and louder. Licking his lips, the pale ginger cat grinned as he wiggled his haunches ever so slightly. And then he saw it carving its path through the meadow, the grass around it bending as it stepped on the stalks, snow flaking off the tips.
Snakepad pounced, a creme-colored smear against the serene Valley pasture as he flew towards his target, landing on the mouse and killing it swiftly. He paused for a moment afterwards, sending a silent prayer to StarClan for gifting them this food.
Mouse in his jaws, and feeling quite satisfied, he stood up, but frowned. There was another smell wafting into his nostrils, one that was familiar. Lightningheart, his brother, was nearby.
"Hello?" as if on cue, the other tom called out, evidently detecting Snakepad at the same time.
"Hello," Snakepad replied, voice muffled due to the prey in his mouth. He dipped his head in greeting as he approached Lightningheart, standing in the grass with his own catch at his paws. "Didn't know anyone else was out here. It's a nice day for leaf-bare." "don't start a fire you can't quench." Shadowcat | Lightningheart

A smile appeared on Lightningheart's face as he recognized his brother, the pale tabby warrior had a mouse in his jaws, no doubt, a result of his extraordinary hunting skills. "Hmm, yes it is a nice day." The warrior's eyes had a hint of worry in them, Tigerheart was hard on his brother, and Lightningheart feared that Snakepad would never be able to escape his clutches. The sound of birdcall echoed through the air as the small winged creature flew above the meadow, it may have been a sparrow but the tom was unsure. Glancing over at Snakepad, the dark-ginger tabby felt a sense of calmness in his soul, he would always love his family, although his father not at much."Perhaps you would like to hunt together? It still is leaf-bare, so more prey is always welcome." The warrior wanted to spend more time with his brother and get to know him better, as when they were younger their father was always pressuring them to train. The winds rustled the soft, snow-topped grasses dotted with a few patches of flowers here and there, Lightningheart's fur was warm and fluffy, protecting the tom from the cold.

snakepad It was funny, really, how much of a stranger Lightningheart was to Snakepad, even though they were brothers, even though they had grown up with each other, slept next to each other at times, trained together under the powerful wrath of their father.
Yet Snakepad felt that he didn't know the dark ginger warrior any better than he would some other acquaintance of his in WindClan, because of the fact that they were almost immediately pitted against each other by Tigerstripe. Now, he wasn't sure where they stood; Lightningheart had begun to drift away from the family, as much as Willowstripe had (although Willowstripe was gone the moment she was born), while Snakepad remained faithfully by Tigerstripe's side, still holding onto the hope that he would one day impress the older tom. He was a bit miffed that Lightiningheart didn't want the same thing; he was also miffed that he wasn't strong enough to not want it by now, at the age of 32 moons. Almost a senior warrior.
He sometimes wondered if it'd come down to a brawl, and who he would side with. Lightningheart and Willowstripe, against Tigerstripe and... him? Snakepad? Would he have the courage to fight his own siblings? Furthermore, would he have the courage to fight his own dad, who raised him and nurtured him and shaped him to be, if he could say so himself (because Tigerstripe said it all the time), one of the great warriors of WindClan?
"Perhaps you would like to hunt together?" Lightningheart's question jerked Snakepad out of his revere, and he realized he was just standing there, rabbit hanging out of his mouth in what must be a silly manner. "It still is leaf-bare, so more prey is always welcome."
Snakepad dropped his prey and cleared his throat. "Um, yes, of course. Let me just bury this to pick up later." He kicked snow and tall grass over the catch, and for good measure set fire to the tips of some of the tall grass to make a marker so he would find it later. "Let's go. How long have you been out here?" "don't start a fire you can't quench." template by Margie @ Adoxography v2

Lightningheart could feel the aggravating awkwardness between the two toms, he felt a strange urge to laugh. Why, it was as if all those days spent training together had never existed at all! The fluffy ginger-furred warrior buried his rabbit besides Snakepad's before following the pale tabby. "I haven't been out for long. It feels a lot safer now that we're together, Starclan forbid we meet a wolf" A slight shiver went through his body, the thought of the large canine's teeth closing on his spine made him feel more uneasy then normal. They had already taken the lives of a deputy, warrior, and apprentice. Jerking out of his thoughts, Lightningheart put his senses on high alert. Searching for prey and potential threats that were nearby, the sound of rustling alerted him of a rabbit. Glancing at his brother, he could tell the the pale warrior had already detected it. The wind blew towards them, carrying the tantalizing scent of rabbit with it, confirming that they were down-wind. The two warriors nodded at each other before breaking off to surround their quarry, a few tail signals and gestures had spoken their unsaid plan. Crouching in the grass, Lightningheart could feel his heart thumping loudly, a brief moment of calm before he dashed forward. The mammal spotted him and made to run away, only to meet the sharp claws that belonged to Snakepad. As he watched his brother catch the rabbit, the ginger-pelted tom felt something deep in his roots, fortified with every moment he spent alive, the joy of being a member of Windclan.
