-Expectations-
1. All high position holding roleplayers are expected to post and roleplay with their position characters at least a few times per month. If you will be absent, please make sure to let us know so we can plan your absence accordingly!
2. If you do not feel like you can consistently keep up, then please, we ask that you do the right thing and step down from your position so someone more able can take over.
There is no shame in saying "I don't have the time or energy for this".
3. Each member may have up to two high positions at a time. They, however, cannot play two of the same roles unless otherwise stated by the staff. A member cannot play two leaders, two medicine cats (Apprentices count as well), or two deputies.
4. All leaders are expected to post ceremonies, create fun in-character events for their Clan (it doesn't have to be big--a feast every now and then could be interesting, for example) from time to time, and be actively involved in roleplaying with their leader's Clanmates.
5. All high positions have the authority to lead their Clan to gatherings.
Deputies, if your Clan's leader does not bring the Clan to the gathering within one week, you are encouraged to do so.
Medicine cats and medicine cat apprentices, if your Clan's deputy does not bring the Clan to the gathering within one week, you are encouraged to do so.
6. Medicine cats are expected to keep up with injuries and illnesses within their Clan. They should be ready to plot and deal with prophecies as they come and create break-outs of illnesses from time to time within their Clans.
7. If you are given a high position, we expect you to also actively participate in our plans for the main plot. However, this would mean that all major actions must be discussed with staff and other high rank roleplayers beforehand and granted permission.
-ThunderClan-
Leader: The leader is given nine lives and is expected to act as the judge of the clan, the balance between good and wrong, life and death. They stand as the overseer and are expected to lead the clan to a prosperous and orderly life.
Leader Apprentice: The ThunderClan leader is expected to take on an apprentice, who they will train to be the next judge of the clan, at some point in their lives. The leader apprentice virtually has no power until they receive their nine lives when their mentor steps down or in some cases, dies. The leader apprentice is often chosen at the same time as the deputy apprentice and often train together in hopes that they can form a lasting bond.
Deputy: The deputy is expected to be the right-hand cat of the leader. They are expected to be very close with each other. The deputy is the guardian of the leader's secrets and their advisor, offering their input and advice. A deputy and leader pair have to be able to be able to work together. Other than that, the deputy organizes patrols and steps in for the leader when the leader is absent. If the leader dies before the leader apprentice finishes training, the deputy is expected to train the leader apprentice until they are fit to become the leader. The only instance where a deputy can be the successor of the leader is if both leader apprentice and leader are not present. If the deputy dies and there is no deputy apprentice, another warrior who meets the traditional requirements is chosen instead.
Deputy Apprentice: The ThunderClan deputy is expected to take on an apprentice, who they will train to be the next deputy of the clan, at some point in their lives. The deputy apprentice virtually has no power until they receive their position as a full deputy and warrior name. The deputy apprentice is often chosen at the same time as the leader apprentice and often train together in hopes that they can form a lasting bond.
Medicine Cat: Medicine Cats have the same duties as they do in the book. They, however, are in charge of organizing growth patrols as well.
Medicine Cat Apprentice: Pretty much the same as their mentor, but Medicine Cat apprentices are also responsible for tending to the herb garden and fetch herbs that cannot be grown.
-ShadowClan-
Leader: ShadowClan leaders are expected to be passionate and free-spirited. The leader is expected to be representative of the clan, but also be the voice of reason within the clan. In ShadowClan, clan leaders are often well respected among their clanmates. ShadowClan leaders are expected to be good with words and confident, as well as fiercely loyal to their beliefs and clanmates. ShadowClan leaders are often very good fighters. ShadowClan high positions are the most similar to the books.
Deputy: ShadowClan deputies are the foundation of order in ShadowClan. They keep things up and moving with different patrols and group training. The deputy is the one responsible for matching an apprentice to their potential mentor and is often the cat that oversees warrior assessments. ShadowClan deputies tend to be the cat who knows every cat's skills the best. The deputy succeeds the leader position after they step down, or in some cases, die.
Medicine Cat: The medicine cat has to be a mentally strong cat in ShadowClan, as it is stressful and unsuited for those that give up easily. They have pretty much the same duties as the medicine cats in the books but have to deal with the many burns and other training accidents, as ShadowClan cats aren't always careful with how they play with fire.
Medicine Cat Apprentice: Same as the medicine cat, but they are also responsible to try to grow herbs that haven't been grown yet in case their supply gets destroyed by some cat and tend to the herb garden.
-RiverClan-
Representative: RiverClan doesn't have a leader or a deputy, but does have an elected representative to speak for the clan. The representative is expected to be somewhat open-minded and well respected among their clanmates. Representatives are often well-trained warriors who have been selected by their clanmates through voting. Representatives conduct ceremonies and make minor clan decisions as well as assemble patrols. Major clan decisions are still decided by vote. Representatives keep their position for two seasons before they are reelected, and are given two extra lives during the two seasons. The extra lives are taken from them when they are no longer representative. A new representative is elected if the former dies.
Representatives do not take the suffix of -star when elected and keep their warrior name. Kits, Elders, and Apprentices are not allowed to be representatives.
Medicine Cat: Medicine cats are expected to be completely open-minded and never biased. They are not allowed to vote in elections, as they are the ones that cats tell their votes to. The medicine cats tally the votes and announce the next representative. Other than that, they have the same duties as they do in the books.
Medicine Cat Apprentice: Same as their mentors. They also tend to the herb gardens.
-WindClan-
Leader: WindClan leaders are the teachers of the clan. Other than conduct ceremonies and lead the clan, they are also expected to pass the teachings and beliefs of the clans to next generation of cats by holding classes and lectures to the young cats. WindClan leaders are often hesitant towards any decision and resilient to change. WindClan leaders are thinkers rather than fighters and prefer to solve conflicts through words instead of claws.
Deputy: The deputy is the next in line to be the leader, and is chosen by the leader. Deputies are expected to lead the more physical side of training and assign patrols. Deputies are also expected to have an apprentice at all times, and once they become the leader, to follow the traditions and choose a cat that he has mentored before to be their deputy. All cats still have the chance to become deputy, as this tradition is now loosely followed. However, a good portion of past leader and deputy pairs had been mentor and apprentice pairs.
Medicine Cat: Medicine cats in WindClan are expected to teach all young cats the basics to herbs and first aid as well as what plants are poisonous, staying true to the WindClan belief that with knowledge there is power. They do all the normal task of the Medicine Cats otherwise.
Medicine Cat Apprentice: Same as their mentors, but they also tend to the herb garden.
-DarkClan-
Leader: The leader of DarkClan must always be a symbol of strength and power for the Clan in order to show that their Clan is worthy of respect and equal treatment. Whether this cat is a symbol of Elemental, Physical or Emotional strength, there is no room for someone who does not display one of three of these requirements. The leader must live under a strict code to never show any signs of weakness within them or the Clan and has final say on all decisions in the Clan.
Head Queen: The Head Queen is chosen by the Clan to be the voice of the people, from the eldest warrior to the newly born kits. She brings all matters about the progression of the Clan’s young to the Leader on a regular basis and has taken an oath to devote her life to raising all the Clan’s young, whether she birthed them or not. If a kit is orphaned, she takes them in under her care. This is to ensure that the Clan has enough warriors to complete the daily duties and that no kit goes uncared for. Head Queens are the leader's advisor and holds their positions until their deaths.
Deputy: The deputy is chosen by the leader and head queen of the Clan to become the successor of the leader. They take responsibility to overlook the training of the apprentices and organize patrols. They typically have the same role in the books.
Medicine Cat: The Medicine Cat of DarkClan has difficult tasks to take care of due to their lack of the earth abilities. They do not have the power to grow herbs and thus must collect them naturally. They take responsibility to be the religious leader of the Clan and does their best to ensure the other Clans that StarClan has accepted DarkClan as an independent group of warriors and not a band of rogues.
Medicine Cat Apprentice: Once the Medicine Cat apprentice has learned most basic knowledge of herbs, they take responsibility for gathering herbs. One of their most common tasks is to cross over to the other Clans in hopes to persuade the other Medicine Cats to allow them any leftover elementally grown herbs they may have to help support DarkClan’s efforts to contain any consumption outbreaks.
