This is the official thread for Lilacbreeze vs Briarsong. Only the respective roleplayers can reply to this thread. This is an unequal skill battle. Briarsong's basic attacks will drop to a maximum of 10 instead of her regular 15. Basic attacks for each character do a maximum of 10 damage, a minimum of 1. Once the characters have begun to fight, it will be a turn-based system. Ex. Lynxstar attacks -> Attack will be rolled -> Ravenstar attacks -> Attack will be rolled. The day the tortoiseshell deputy had dreaded was finally here. It was battle day. The sun was setting, allowing a half moon to rise above the mountains that sheltered the valley. Ravenstar was sure to be arriving shortly. Briarsong had prepared her cats since their warriors vanished at five stones. Lynxstar had been plotting this ever since. After a half moon of reinforcing their dens, tonight was the night to determine if it was all worth it. She prayed to StarClan they wouldn't be forced back from Oak Hill.
Ravenstar knew this territory well. She could have easily sent scouts within the moon as well. Sure, they held the advantage of surprise, but DarkClan cats were rumored to be able to see in the dark.
Briarsong blended well between the trees and mud, but she knew a pair of sharp eyes would be able to spot her. She would play on the defensive for now until she could isolate a DarkClan warrior. For now, she would wait. word count, notes, n stuff

Duty and honor: the two traits the senior warrior had ensured that she would pass on to her children. She taught them and a handful of apprentices very well, and was now satisfied with the legacy she had to leave behind. Lilacbreeze was one of the oldest cats in the clans, she was sure of it. However, retirement had never been on her mind. After ThunderClan turned her away, she swore on her life to serve DarkClan as a loyal warrior until her legs could carry her no longer, until her eyes failed her, until she released her final breath. Today might just be that day....but if she was to die, it would be with the safety of her Clan on her mind. Most would try to take pity on a cat of her age, watching such a ragged and painfully thin cat weave through the battle field. But she was hardened in her skills, after serving as a warrior for countless seasons. She could still pack a fair punch, even if her aim was a little iffy now. She'd just have to ensure that none of her own clanmates were around. It'd be a darn shame if she accidentally hit one of them. However, those fogging blue eyes did manage to spot something among the undergrowth, a find that was likely born purely out of luck. Lilacbreeze paused and narrowed her eyes to ensure that this was a cat she was seeing, and not some hallucination from her old age. Briarsong's green eyes fell on Lilacbreeze. If her memory served her well, Lilacbreeze was once a ThunderClan warrior before Ravenstar's revolution. It saddened the tortoiseshell she-cat slightly to have to spill the blood of a former Clanmate, but she had made her choice. She chose to support Ravenstar. It was time for her to learn the consequences of betraying ThunderClan. Briarsong would ensure that they would be victorious today, no matter the cost. Despite disagreeing with Lynxstar, she had to defend Oak Hill with her life. If Ravenstar's forces managed to push through, they could reach their camp. She didn't want to take that risk. Their elders and queens would be at risk. Ravenstar had perfect knowledge of their camp. They wouldn't stand a chance if she wanted to breach it.
Briarsong lept out from her spot and kicked up some earth, hoping to send a few stones flying towards the traitor. "You should have never left ThunderClan!" She hissed.

The pointed she-cat cringed as her former clanmate sent dirt showering into her face. She took a few steps back, allowing her clumpy fur to bristle along her spine as she stared down the clan deputy. DarkClan's own deputy was missing...but as their oldest warrior, Lilacbreeze would now take it upon herself to dance with death. If she couldn't defeat Briarsong, then at least she could weaken her enough for the next cat. "And what did you want me to do, Briarsong? Remain in a clan that only wanted to chase me out, and risk the lives of my kittens for a clan too proud to see past its own nose?"The flying rocks sent the senior warrior staggering, and already her delicate skin was littered with cuts and bruises. But as an honorable and dedicated warrior, Lilacbreeze would remain, and fight like a dignified cat. She was no coward. If she was meant to live, then so be it: she'd live. Briarsong listened as Lilacbreeze spoke. She felt pity for the she-cat, she did, but she had made her choice. StarClan would decide her fate this day. Briarsong knew she wasn't wrong. With Lynxstar in charge, there was no guarantee for her kits' safety. She ultimately made the right choice for them. Briarsong prayed things wouldn't end horribly for her. She had no intention of killing her. When Lilacbreeze hissed the insult at her, the tortoiseshell molly simply flicked her tail. "Many of ThunderClan would say the same about you, Lilacbreeze."
Briarsong hissed as the shadows wrapped themselves around her, cutting through her pelt. It wasn't the worst she had felt, but she could do without the cold feeling surrounding her. She kicked up more stones, hoping to hit the senior warrior again.

"There is no shame in choosing a life of safety over a future of guaranteed torment." Amidst her beating, Lilacbreeze weakly raised her lavender-colored chin in pride. At this rate, the warrior's end would be very soon, but that didn't keep her from continuing on with her attack. If her body was too weak to serve her clan in life, then maybe in death, she could succor them, should aid still be necessary. The molly was already prepared to not walk out of this war alive, for she had already said goodbye to her daughter. Ebonystream was furious, and had fought to come. But her services had been denied. It was for the better that way. She didn't want her edgy daughter to witness her death and enter a state of rage and humiliation. Lilacbreeze had raised her daughter to be regal, and seeing her mother in such a weakened condition could ruin all the hard work put into Ebonystream. Not only that, but the pointed queen had worked tireless to build such a relationship with her daughter that the black warrior would see her as a hardened, unstoppable figure. She knew her offspring was rebellious and trying right from the start, and it seemed the best way to win control. Lilacbreeze desperately tried another Siphon. Jinx

Briarsong shook her pelt as she felt the dark tendrils injure her slightly. They wouldn't come loose no matter how much she tried. Using Revitalize so early would be a waste on such little wounds. "Do you truly believe Ravenstar's false promises of safety? Just look where it's gotten her, where it's gotten you. Fighting a battle to try and mask her lies of taking our warriors. You're all just distractions for her grand scheme. When will you come to realize she's manipulating every one of you?" She kicked up more stones and sent them towards Lilacbreeze.
Power crashed 2 times during the writing of this. Bless drafts.

Weakness was beginning to settle into Lilacbreeze's frame as she staggered from the blows she received. Her vision grew a little fuzzy but, with a shake of her head and an attempt to regain her balance, she found her footing once more. "She's trying to give us our safety, she hasn't lied about it whatsoever. The only problem is ThunderClan's relentless attempts to eradicate our kind from this earth." The pointed she-cat's words were bitter with resentment before she attacked once more.
Lilacbreeze used a basic attack.
