Lynxstar padded along the Life Hollow, his eyes scanning every spot around and inside the hollowed tree. He’d been slightly on edge ever since Mouseclaw... He was down to seven lives now, two lost within a day. Part of him wished it didn’t have to be this way, but she chose her path, just as he chose his own. Her fate was her own doing. His eyes squinted against the glare of the sun, turning to face his apprentice. He settled down in front of her, wrapping his tail around his paws and he peered down at her. “Apologies,” he said, his voice echoing. “I wanted to start your training earlier, but Darkclan has taken up nearly all of my attention. Now, however, I can finally see how well your previous mentor has trained you and go from there.”He closed his eyes and focused his energy, nodding in satisfaction as he heard the familiar sounds of the ground opening up. He opened his eyes, flicking an ear as he noticed the large boulder separating himself from Newtpaw. “I would first like to see how well your elemental skills are. Use Bloom to cover this boulder until I can only see plants and we shall use the remaining pieces to teach you Rock Shower.”20mia08

So don't let me down Keep me in trouble #### | BlazeThe incident with Mouseclaw had left Newtpaw on edge and constantly on the defense, and it also made her a little thankful that she no longer had any family. Being an only child certainly had its benefits, from your parents' full attention to, obviously, a lack of sibling rivalry. While it did make the chocolate point a little lonely from time to time, she reminded herself that she had her own pawful of friends for any comfort she might need. Owlpaw, specifically, although she hadn't had much interaction with the tom since their promotion. Perhaps it was for the better.
She followed her mentor attentively, eyes gleaming for a thirst for even a fraction of the knowledge he held. When he apologized to Newtpaw, she offered a firm nod in response, remaining standing as he sat to prepare to present him with whatever he desired. She was here to please and impress, and then hopefully, learn as much as she possibly could.
When the ground beneath her buckled and moved to give way to a boulder, Newtpaw took a cautious step backwards, to keep herself out of harm's way. Hmmm, what would they be doing with this? "Use Bloom to cover this boulder until I can only see plants and we shall use the remaining pieces to teach you Rock Shower." Her tiny triangular ears perked with interest when he mentioned Rock Shower. She was already capable of performing the move and was eager to prove it to him, but reminded herself to swallow her pride and chill out. Lynxstar wasn't one of her adolescent buddies.
You might know the move, Noot, but that doesn't mean you have it mastered under your belt. Obediently, the dappled apprentice stepped forward to use Bloom to cover the rocks. Raising a paw she touched it gently, allowing greenery and life to flow through the bare rock.

Lynxstar nodded in approval once he saw Newtpaw's foliage completely cover the rock, rising to his paws and standing in front of her to protect her from the blast. The boulder shattered into hundreds of rocks, all covered in thick grass and plants. He didn't want her to get terribly hurt, hence his request that she cover the boulder with her powers, but it would do her good to build up some pain tolerance. He willed the rocks to circle around him, his eyes never leaving her small form. "Very good," he started. "The purpose of this exercise is to prepare you, should you ever find yourself in a battle with a fellow Earth elemental. Starclan willing that you share the same element, you can use any attacks to you advantage. Be warned, however, as they can do the same if they wish to." He slid a few rocks her way, his own stopping in place. "Let us begin. Attack me,"" he said as the rocks began flying towards her 20mia08

So don't let me down Keep me in trouble #### | Blaze Blue eyes squinting to protect themselves from any free-flying small debris, the mottled apprentice offered a small cringe as the rock suddenly burst. She felt a few tiny pebbles cut through her soft fur and into her flesh from the force of the blast, causing the leader's apprentice to grit her teeth out of piercing albeit temporary agony. It was tempting to cower away, to lick her wounds, but she reminded herself to remain strong in the presence of Lynxstar, as she would to ThunderClan some day.
Her gaze darted up towards her mentor once more, realizing that he was watching. She turned to face him to offer a physical queue that she was prepared for the next section of their training. She felt the slightest pang of shock in the depths of her belly when he mentioned attacking, reminding herself that it may mean that Lynxstar would fight back. Was she strong enough to take up her leader, even if in a minor practice? No. Never be afraid, Newtpaw. She drew in a deep breath.
As the rocks flew towards her, Newtpaw called upon her inner bravery (and maybe a touch of arrogance) and willed herself forward rather than away, permitting herself to focus on the flying debris to win over control. Once she was able to slow the rocks and eventually cease their crashing movement, she forced them forward in Lynxstar's direction.
