In-depth Description: A silver tom whose fur lightens almost to white on his muzzle and underbelly, with streaks of darker fur along his sides and back. He has very short fur, a blocky head, and wide ears. In short, he is built like a brick.

Personality description: A first look, Coyotegaze appears stoic and calm, but in that way he is like the ocean - the calm and still surface hiding the deadly, roaring current underneath. He is physically strong, owing to his RiverClan breeding and his own discipline. This is something that he is very proud of - he loves his Clan  and heritage with every fibre of his being. Growing up in RiverClan gave him the confidence to speak his mind, no matter how sensitive the subject. The flipside of this is he can often be stubborn when confronted with facts that challenge his views. Some of these views are very old-fashioned - he believes and values the Code and the borders laid out between Clans. He also believes a she-cat's priorities should always be kits. This comes from the fact he is very family orientated. Having a large family of his own is one of his main goals, almost an obsession, and he doesn't care who is hurt in the process of achieving this goal. This makes him selfish in some respects, but there would be nothing he wouldnt do for his family or loved ones. He is protective of those he cares about, almost to the point it becomes possessive.

History: Coyotegaze is from a long and proud line of Riverclan warriors. He was born to his mother after many moons of trying, and to his parents' delight, he was mewing within minutes of taking his first breath. That was how he earned his name - he sounded like a coyote howling with all the noise he would make.

He was born with a brother and sister; his sister was born strong and healthy, but his brother - the smallest of the trio - was not so lucky. The little one was whisked away to the medicine cat's den, and did not leave it again. It look almost a moon of constant care, but the kit passed away before having ever been named.

He was given his apprentice name along with his sister, and they set out into the world as 'paws. On a regular training exercise, Coyotepaw sustained a small injury - a pulled muscle or something similar - that had him confined to camp. He said goodbye to his sister and parents as all three of them left to practice their elemental skills together, unaware it would be the last time he saw them alive. When the sun threatened to set, a patrol was sent out to find them, Coyotepaw made to wait behind in agony.
When the patrol returned, they tried to gently break the news that his family were dead. All three had been found near one of the lakes. Canine scent was found. The main theory was that a dog, perhaps from one of the two-legs that liked to visit in Newleaf, had gotten loose and killed them.

The following moons felt unreal to Coyotepaw. He lost his appetite for everything - training, swimming, eating. He spent a lot of time sleeping, trying to avoid the world. His mentor, in an attempt to perk him up, started to train him with an apprentice they had accepted from ThunderClan - Sandpaw. At first, Coyotepaw ignored this newcomer. Then he started to warm up to the pretty she-cat, and by the time they both had gotten their warrior names, he was already planning to court her.

The two fell in love quickly, spending every spare moment together. He loved her for her sweetness, so different to himself. It seemed StarClan were not done with him, however: Sandwhisker was unable to carry any of his kits to term. In the moons that followed, this put a strain on them both mentally, and their relationship suffered. Coyotegaze could not imagine a life without kits - his kits - so he ended things with Sandwhisker. He regrets that he hurt her, but not that he did it.
