History
*History: Pebblekit was an oddball even from an early age. He was born to Bee- and Eel- one early Leaffall morning, the only kit to be born during the steadily declining temperature. His parents tried desperately to get him to socialize with the other kits in the nursery, but everytime he either refused to move or would stare at the other party until they left him alone. He never seemed to want to do anything more than snuggle up to his mother, even as he grew into an apprentice. When asked why he liked the solitude over his clanmates, he merely shrugged.
Once he became Pebblepaw, he was apprenticed under Almond-, a loud and outgoing she-cat who made it her mission to get Pebblepaw to socialize with his clanmates. She would take him everywhere; patrols, gatherings, border skirmishes, anywhere that would require him to speak with any one else, but nothing worked. It began to get the point where Almond-, his parents, and the former medicine cat thought he might be mute, until one day.
Almond- had taken Pebblepaw out on a training session near the river while a she-cat named Gorsepaw and her mentor practised hunting nearby. He was practising an elemental attack when a stray flame came close to hitting Gorsepaw. Young Pebblepaw shouted at the top of his lungs for her to duck, which suprised Almond- and Gorepaw who did as he asked in the nick of time. Almond- would later tell him not to shout that loud, lest he hurt his throat doing so, but Gorsepaw was thankful of his warning.
From that moment on, they spent most of their days together, not really talking but just enjoying each others company. It became apparent, however that they were very different. While Gorsepaw was kind, loud and outgoing, she was usually the center of attention and she always loved it, Pebblepaw usually preferred to stay by himself.
When Pebblepaw became Pebblefoot and Gorsepaw became Gorse-, they began to court each other, though quickly, their relationship became sour. Gorse- wanted to have kits more than anything else, Pebblefoot didn't want small paws trailing behind him every step of the day, but despite all odds, young Badgerkit was born. Pebblefoot wanted nothing to do with his son or former mate afterward and did everything in his power to avoid the two.
Not long after Badgerkit was born, Gorse- cornered him and forced him to meet her at the river so that they could talk. He relucantly did so, and at sunset of that same day, the two met one last time. As they were talking, Gorse- took a misstep and slipped into rapid water. Despite himself, he tried to save her, but she was too far away for his paws to do anything and his element was useless in the presence of so much water. He was forced to return to camp and tell the representative of the tragic news.
As soon as he finished speaking, he was bombarded with questions. Some of his clanmates regarded him with distrust in his eyes, others simply wept for their fallen clanmate. Badgerkit cried as hard as he could, even when he found he could cry no more. Pebblefoot never found it in himself to comfort his son, however and instead retired to his den.
Badgerpaw has become an apprentice now, but Pebblefoot never looked at him any differently. He supposed that it was good that Riverclan now had more than one or two Fire Elementals, but he never truly cared.
