History
History: Reedkit was born to Lily- and Pike- of RiverClan alongside his littermates, Lionkit and Willowkit. Their mother died from Greencough when they were only a moon old. The trio were nursed by another queen after Lily-'s passing. Pike- quickly grew bitter and abusive towards his kits, both physically and verbally. The queens in the nursery did their best to keep him out, though there was no stopping him when the kits were outside to play.
Reedpaw tried his best to please his father and grow to his standards, but nothing he did could please Pike-. Lionpaw avoided their father at all costs, while Willowpaw only minded her distance. It was hard to run when they lived in the same camp. Willowpaw had died on patrol with Pike-, their father claiming it was a tragic accident that she'd been mercilessly slaughtered by a fox. Reedpaw knew better than to believe his father didn't murder his sister in cold blood. He distanced himself from Lionpaw and avoided seeing Pike-.
Reedtail only grew bitter as time went on. Pike- requested to speak with him and Lionflower together alone at night. Lionflower was afraid for his life, and Reedtail knew exactly what their father wanted to do. Pike- went on about how much he hated the two toms when they met outside of camp and screamed at them, blaming them for the death of their mother. He then laughed, asking them why he even cared when it was clear that she never loved him. Lionflower tried defending their late mother, but Pike- snapped at him, claiming he firmly believed that Lily- had an affair and that they weren't truly his kits. He then lunged towards Lionflower, but Reedtail intercepted him. He killed his father without remorse, to Lionflower's horror. The two toms agreed to keep it to themselves, and blamed his death on a coyote.
Reedtail never mentally recovered from the abuse he grew up with as a kit. Lionflower had managed to move on, but the anger and resentment never left for him. He blamed his Clanmates for not stepping in when their father would shout at them, or swat at them out in the open. He didn't trust his Clanmates then, and they have yet to regain his trust now.
