Reedtail sat outside the apprentices' den, his ear flicking in annoyance. Hadn't he already called for Furzepaw? This is why he disliked apprentices. All they did was cause a ruckus, and when they weren't, they were sleeping in. They were no better than kits. The black tom stood up and opened his mouth again.
"Furzepaw!" He called. "For the last time, it's training time. Unless you'd rather stay here, I'll have you picking ticks off of the elders for the next moon." He growled. "Get moving!"
He sat back down and wrapped his tail around his paws. Perhaps that wasn't the best approach. Oh well. Whatever gets me results. word count, notes, n stuff

Their silent thunder matches mine
Furzepaw hadn't stirred from her nest since getting in it last night. It was nice and warm compared to outside. She'd spent much time on making sure it was comfortable and warm. She wasn't looking forward to having to take it all out and start from scratch. It was hard to smuggle feathers into the apprentices' den during leafbare, especially during famine. The nursery always got them since it was rare to catch birds when they were trained for fishing. She hadn't heard Reedtail's call the first time, honestly. She was so caught up in her dream. Hearing the senior warrior snap at her from the entrance spooked her up. Her fluffly calico pelt was ruffled and in disorder. She wouldn't have enough time to groom it properly with his patience. She quickly gave it a once over before getting up and approaching the dark tom with her ears pinned back. "I'm sorry, Reedtail. I didn't hear you, honest! It won't happen again." She promised, her eyes pleading. Jinx |
