Move dust through the light to fide your name

Sunlight filtered through the dew covered ferns that made the entrance of the large white tom's den. Sagewhisker was already up before the early crack of dawn. He groomed out his pelt carefully after waking. It was a big day today, after all. Sagewhisker had to be honest, he wasn't expecting to take on an apprentice so early, but he had found the one. He knew she was ready.
The tom checked on the WindClan sisters, who appeared to still be asleep. Eveningpaw's wounds were just about healed, though Mosspaw's condition was still worrying. He sighed. At least his new apprentice would learn essential care early on.
He walked out of the den and lifted his head to feel the early sunlight filter through the budding leaves. Newleaf was coming on strong now. It was about time after such a long leafbare.
Sagewhisker climbed up onto the High Rock and waved his tail. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather around for a Clan meeting!" He called.
Normally, apprentice ceremonies were Lynxstar's responsibility. His mentor had told him that ceremonies such as leader, deputy and medicine cat apprentice appointments had been handled by the mentors themselves as far back as their arrival to the valley. She had conducted the ceremony for his apprenticeship, as did her mentor, and so on. It was time to carry on the tradition.
"I, Sagewhisker, medicine cat of ThunderClan call upon my warrior ancestors to hear and approve of my choice. Whitekit, please step forward." He had to admit, the words to appointing a medicine cat apprentice were a blur in his memory. Leaf- had likely improvised too. As long as they had StarClan's blessing, ceremony words likely didn't matter.
"From this moment on, you shall be known as Whitepaw. May StarClan bless you with the courage, compassion, and patience required to succeed in your training as a medicine cat apprentice." He said, dipping his head to the large kitten.

This is not a place. Not yet awake.
