ThunderClan finally being able to move back to camp was a relief for everyone. The bear cave was cramped, especially with every cat crammed into one area. Cats were hardly able to navigate without stepping on someone's tail. It was nice to have the freedom of the great tree again, even is it was still somewhat unstable. Hours of revitalizing work had been put into healing the tree. Briarsong needed a break from work on the camp, and volunteered to go out and grow other things.
Soot still stained her white paws. She hoped that with growing back some of the plants, the ashes would finally disappear in the dirt. Briarsong made her way to Oak Hill, digging through the soot and ash trying to find remnants of life in the ground.
A small sprout was all she needed. Surely it had been long enough since the fire?
She lashed her tail in annoyance as she found nothing again. She moved a little further down and restarted. word count, notes, n stuff

EelchaserAdmittedly annoyed, the silver Warrior stalked through the soot. It really seemed like the chaos of ShadowClan would never leave him alone and now here he was surrounded by burned bushes and a couple charred trees, just like his old camp. Maybe he felt at home, just a little bit. But mostly he felt… inconvenience and certainly disgusted with his old Clanmates. Sure, they didn’t have the best track record nor did they like ThunderClan (part of that grudge still lives in him even now) but this was just far too much. They burned over half the forest! And now, how was he supposed to find food? Their stockpile was gone by the time they even got close to the camp and anything that could’ve remained? Crowfood. Quite literally in some cases. Perhaps the Storm Elemental could find some small bird, foraging through the ashes, and zap it before it went away. Although he had a sneaking feeling many of his Clanmates preferred not-so-burnt birdmeat. Well, it was unlikely anyone would refuse food now. Yet there was nothing! Where could have all the prey gone? At least it didn’t seem like he was the only one who found no success in his business. As he kept stalking and trying to follow scents, he stumbled on Briarsong lashing her tail. Impulsively, he remarked: “Having troubles in your Earthly work? At least you’re not the only one who it seems nothing can go right for. Let’s hope ShadowClan won’t be stingy on the food or growing new trees might be the last of your concerns,” he chuckled slightly quieter, trying to lift the mood a little. Mostly so Eelchaser could take a break and not have his paws burn off from exhaustion. Jinx

Briarsong turned her head as she heard a familiar voice speak. "Oh, Eelchaser," She huffed, then smiled. "Unfortunately. It's almost impossible to grow things out of nothing. I think the only cat with that talent here is Sagewhisker, but he's been very busy lately." She said. "I don't want to trouble him with this."
The she-cat parted her jaws in a small yawn. "I'm familiar with one of my potential suspects of the arson, Sunwing. Something tells me she'll try to get away with the bare minimum if she was involved." She sighed.
Briarsong pushed more ashes away and spotted a sprout, quickly using her element to help it grow larger. As it grew, it appeared to be a fern of some sort. Once she was satisfied with the new size, making sure it would still have much more time to grow on it's own, she turned back to Eelchaser.
"If you're not too busy, perhaps you'd like to help? You may be no Earth Elemental, however you've got four paws and a pair of working eyes. That's all I need." word count, notes, n stuff

Eelchaser
“Can Sagewhisker really grow plants from nothing?” That concept was quite foreign to the tom. Earth Elementals weren’t… particularly common in ShadowClan. Actually, did he even know any Earth Elements from ShadowClan? Eelchaser couldn’t remember any but it had been a couple moons, maybe he just didn’t speak a lot to them? “Ah, Sunwing. Yeah, I knew her a bit, and she is DEFINITELY the type to try and avoid punishment.” He chuckled a little, reminiscing on a couple memories from his past. “I’m sure most cats don’t mean to burn ThunderClan’s territory. Between you and me...” he walked a little closer and continued in a hushed tone, “Apprentices are a lot more volatile.”“StarClan knows I was!” he exclaimed with a kind smile. “Fire looks hard to control as is but lightning has almost no goal - no target,” he tried to explain. It was already hard enough to get Acornpaw back in shape after their last training session, and he had something to relate to, but it was even harder to explain to Briarsong. “Part of it is skill, sure, but most of it is luck, right? So even when you’re tippy-pawed sure that your zap will hit, it could just recoil into a tree. Quite a risk, but when you’re used to fire you’re not as surprised when half a forest is burne- Oh right, it did happen.”There was a slight awkward pause, but the Deputy broke the silence and the Storm Elemental replied: “Well, I’m supposed to be hunting but there’s nothing, soooo,” he hung on the last word for a second. “Might as well, right? After all, the quicker the forest regrows, the easier it’ll be to leap after the frogs.”With new vigor in his step, the Warrior half-turned around, ready for the challenge, before facing Brairsong again, his electrifying-yellow eyes looking embarrassed around in silence. Finally, after a brief moment, he asked with one breath: “So how do I help exactly?”Jinx

The deputy nodded as Eelchaser asked his first question. "A skilled medicine cat such as Sagewhisker is able to grow just about anything without needing a part of the plant still intact." She confirmed. "In my eyes, so long as he's able to grow Star Root, he can grow just about anything." Briarsong meowed.
She scraped away another pile of ash, carefully growing the little sproutlings to stronger plants as he spoke of Sunwing. "I've had a pawful of encounters with her at the border. Quite the hothead." She meowed, flicking her tail. "I won both times, if I recall correctly."
Briarsong gently patted down some of the ash around the strengthened stems of the young plant, mixing it among the dirt. She chuckled at his comment on apprentices. "Oh, I know. My brother was a menace once he learned how to kick up loose small stones." She purred. "Rocks and plants may not too as much damage to the environment, but if an Earth apprentice isn't careful, they can take out someone's eye. Can't put some cobwebs on that wound to heal."
The molly gave Eelchaser a smile as he spoke of his apprenticeship. "Lightning does seem difficult to learn to control. A Water Elemental would be a good idea to keep around during a training session." She flicked an ear.
Briarsong padded over to the tom as he accepted her request for help. "Just dig around in the ashes to see if you can find any sprouts. Call me over if you spot anything, I'll make sure it's strong enough to survive." word count, notes, n stuff

EelchaserPadding after the Deputy, Eelchaser listened more about Sagewhisker. Starfruit was rare and usually reserved only for Medicine Cats, so the Warrior knew nothing of what it did or how it worked. Nevertheless, it was interesting, and he absentmindedly nodded to Brairsong. As she spoke of the Border skirmishes between ShadowClan and ThunderClan, the tom stopped briefly next to one of the plants she had grown. It was quite intriguing hearing from the other side; it must have been quite annoying having to grow new plants after every battle between the two Clans. Good thing the Air Elementals pushed the fire away from ShadowClan, huh. At least ThunderClan could regrow their forest, something ShadowClan couldn’t really. “Oh, have you now?” said the tom. “I’ve been in a few patrols myself - quite a few. Storm is fairly useful for fighting off intruders, so I was picked often,” meowed the Warrior, quiet pride sticking to his tongue. “I’ve had to patrol with Sunwing a pawful of time and I don’t recall ever losing,” said Eelchaser with an arrogant chuckle. “But then again, I don’t think I’ve ever seen you in any fights back then.”He started following behind her again, listening as she told him about her brother and the trouble he got into. “Taking out someone’s eye! StarClan save me because I don’t think anyone’s got that kind of precision. You’re making me more relieved I never had to take on an experienced Warrior if that’s what just an Apprentice could do.
And yes, Water Elementals are always welcome. If DarkClan weren’t neighbours with ShadowClan, we may have used RiverClan as training ground, haha.”Eelchaser gazed at Briarsong. It really was impressive how she could just boost a plant’s growth. And as she answered his question, the tom began searching through the ash, his paws sifting carefully through the fine, dusty soot, making his white-gray paws darken. It took a while to find anything, making various retorts or sighs in the meantime, but eventually he found a tiny plant. “I found something!” he chirped, his silvery tail raised high. “What do you think it is?”

Briarsong nodded when the tom spoke of his patrolling experience. "That's the thing, I feel like Sunwing was purposely hunting me down along the border. We always caught each other alone." She sighed. "She's got a vendetta. Possibly hurt her pride when I beat her the first time." Briarsong meowed.
She laughed. "Oh StarClan, the apprentices do not have that kind of precision. It's accidental, they hardly know what they're doing. It takes a long time to practice that kind of control to get the right precision. I've never seen Lynxstar get someone's eye, however we haven't had many battles together." She replied. Briarsong flicked an ear. "I know I certainly don't have that skill yet."
Briarsong nodded at his comment. ShadowClan had given away part of it's territory to DarkClan 8 seasons ago now, RiverClan offering a small portion as well. It certainly cut off access to the open marsh to allow the hazardous elements to train. "I'd rather it be RiverClan's reeds that end up being singed than half our forest each season." She commented.
The tortoiseshell turned her head when Eelchaser had found something. She walked over, sniffing the small sprout as he asked what it was. "At this stage, I'm not too sure myself. Could be an herb, could be a fern, a flower. Anything helps." She nodded.
Briarsong gently tapped it with her paw, then focused on helping the sprout grow larger.
She tilted her head. "Looks like an herb of some sort. I'll have to let Sagewhisker know about it later." word count, notes, n stuff
