Viper could shove it. If his father truly hadn't cared and regarded him as worthless filth, then he wouldn't have been one of the lucky to be granted an assignment. One might argue that his father was hoping that he would merely not return, but Recluse saw it instead as a great opportunity, of proof of his father's hidden faithfulness in the tom's abilities. To hell with what the others thought- Recluse would prove himself a worthy successor with his own talents. Perhaps he wasn't the biggest, perhaps he wasn't the strongest, but when it came to his observation abilities... The lynx point had descended from the harsh mountain landscape to settle upon a long plain, flicking his ears curiously as he took in the details of his assignment. "Wind"Clan seemed to be a dead giveaway of what the warriors there possessed, although he reminded himself to not let his guard down. Just because the clan had an aesthetic didn't mean they stuck to it, he imagined that there was plenty movement between cats alternating clans to find where they best fit in. Recluse couldn't relate to that- he was confident that he was where he belonged. He would, with enough elbow grease, progress through the clowder's ranks to be equivalent to his father and even one day be his successor. Even if it meant stepping on the toes of the others. He didn't care about how the others felt about the matter, he didn't care if it meant hurting their feelings. Recluse's mind was firmly locked onto his own necessities and doing whatever it took to please his father. Like a ghost, the pale feline lingered at the edges of WindClan's home, feeling the breeze tug against his fluffy coat as if it was trying to welcome him into the land of the air elements. This was nothing more than a shadow-and-report mission, at least for now. He could not risk giving away his title as a cat that lacked elements, otherwise he might raise suspicion and then not stand a chance against the element-wielding beasts. And so, Recluse had taken proper precautions by spending a few prolonged moments on the freshly marked RiverClan border to take up their scent and mask his own. He wasn't concerned with those water-loving fishfaces, as Viper had made quick work of them. If she could take them out and play in the water at the same time, then he as confident that he could do the same. Air...it didn't seem too bad, unless they could steal the breath from his lungs. That could be a bit of an, erm, problem. Shrewd eyes scavenged the long plains for miniscule details- he took note of the earth, seeing that it was slightly damaged. Something had happened here. There was minor scorching from what perhaps had been a fire element, uneven landscape that seemed completely unnatural, disturbed grass from what had looked like several paws... He was standing in what was once a war zone. Now this...this would be valuable information.

[googlefont=Libre Baskerville] Primrose I'd rather run away The young molly wandered through WindClan territory, taking the time to stretch her legs. Stormstar had been busy with Bumblekit lately, so Primrose had been given more time to try and work on her powers on her own. It was frightening, however after observing Fallowbird, she knew that spending time with his kit was very important. The WindClan queen had fussed over Mosspaw and Eveningpaw after they returned home and hardly allowed them to wander off on their own again. Seeing the two current parents of WindClan treat their kits with such love...Primrose wished her parents had done the same. The love she had felt from her mother was brief and shortlived. She disappeared without a trace as her littermates were destroyed one by one. There was no love from her father. Only scorn and disappointment that she wasn't the perfect experiment. Primrose's paws had carried her to the familiar landscape of the Hare Plains. She had gotten caught up in the fighting on accident, having been on a walk when RiverClan made the call to strike and push to claim the territory. Luckily she had come out mostly uninjured, however the uncomfortable memories remained. Movement in the grass caught her eye. Primrose's hackles rose, uncertain if it was a WindClanner or a RiverClanner looking for more trouble in the plains. The small molly crept forward, carefully stalking the original site of movement, keeping her ears pricked. The shock of whom she had seen was immense. "Recluse?"

He knew that she had to be around the Valley somewhere, where disgraceful creatures like herself roamed. He had seen how out of control she had become, although remained wistfully jealous of the attention that she received from his father because she had the "gift", and he did not. He had been a failure. But then again, who was more of a failure- the one who disappointed at birth, or the one who disappointed after high hopes had grown? Nonetheless, Recluse did not expect to find here here, of all places. WindClan was a dead giveaway, it was obvious that the cats here could control the wind, and the hellish thing that she barely had control over... ...it definitely wasn't air. If Vultureclaw couldn't help her, then these cats surely couldn't. He had been expecting a WindClan patrol and therefore had a relaxed demeanor after surveying their land. He understood that after such a disastrous battle, the cats were likely to be somewhat hostile, so it was better for Recluse to remain passive and swallow the pride that he typically wielded readily. The ghostly feline's eyes had drifted back towards RiverClan, to which another one of his fellow rogues had been assigned. Viper had been given "ThunderClan", which sounded the most intense. He hoped that they'd fry her. "Recluse?"The lynx point felt his hackles raise at the sound of the voice that had vanished from his life long ago, after she betrayed their family by fleeing from her own problems like a coward. She had abandoned him, left him in the wasteland to deal with the aftermath that was the rage of Vultureclaw. She had been their leader's hope, and then quickly his resentment. And such rage...it was directed towards him, Recluse, the closest thing to her. All the same- the same phantom-esque coat, the same cerulean orbs...Recluse was just the empty, unlucky version of her. The rip off version. The discount version. Part of him had hoped that she had died. But that half of him...it had been swallowed up by venomous resentment. Instead, he had hoped that she was still alive, so that he might have the honor himself... It would appear that his wish had come true. But nonetheless Recluse was taken back, shocked to find her here of all places. It was his duty to report what he saw, and if Vultureclaw knew that the successful experiment still lived in the place of his failure of a son...Recluse curled his lip to reveal pointed teeth, longing to be plunged into the neck of the one he'd grown to envy with every molecule of his being. "...Sister."Thorne

[googlefont=Libre Baskerville] Primrose I'd rather run away Primrose flattened her ears when her brother showed his teeth. She lowered her head slightly, narrowing her eyes on the tom. "Don't tell me...father still searches?" She asked quietly. She hated the idea. Had he really travelled as far as he did to track her down? Did he have some other sort of malicious intent? The molly didn't understand much as to why the Clan cats seemed to be able to control the elements. She remembered overhearing a tale from the elders to Fallowbird's kittens on how "StarClan" had given them their powers. Did Vultureclaw intend on stealing the power from the stars and weaponizing Recluse? Would he find a way to inflict the same curse she carried onto her poor brother, who no longer was safely shielded by mother? ...What ever happened to mother? As much as she wanted to ask, she could tell by the look in her brother's freezing cold eyes that he was not here to catch up on old times with her. "Why are you here, brother?" She asked him. "Trust this...trust you, I wish I could." She confessed. "Please tell me...not here to harm me, are you?"

"Business of yours, it is not." The lynx point responded with great haste, his cloud-like fur beginning to bristle along his spine as he glowered at the cat he once called his sister. That was a long, long time ago...long before she had abandoned him. Long before their mother had perished. Long before father... Gods did he want to inflict a world of pain on Primrose for leaving him. It required restraint of every molecule in his body, with his dagger-like claws sinking into the tattered landscape to hold him steady and prevent him from lunging at Primrose's throat. She had no idea what it felt like, all of it- she could never understand. He could only let her taste an ounce of the mental and emotional torture he endured after she ran away from them. The look in father's eyes every time he turned to Recluse...so empty, such a devoid of warmth and love. It was like looking into the dark of a moonless, frigid winter eve. Harm? He'd do much more than that- he'd make her rue the day she as born. But if he screwed up this mission, his father would kill him. He was sure of it- he'd never have Vultureclaw's approval if he pissed off those clan cats and gave away his position. And murdering his sister in the light of day...well, that'd surely give him away. "Harm you, barely would it be the start of it. Know of pain, you do not...!" The silvered tom curled a lip bitterly as his voice echoed with venom, eyeing his sister dangerously as he refused to budge from his position. If he did, he feared all sense of restraint would be lost, and his mission would be failed. "Teach you agony, happily I would." Recluse briefly stole his stone-cold gaze away when what sounded like a distant howl sounded on the wind. ....So, neighbor problems were only the start of it. "Looking around, all it is. Leave me."Thorne
