a single drop of a smile diffuses into happiness
I'll accept everything, even tear-filled nights
and believe the world will change
Furzepaw hated training with Reedtail.
The senior warrior was harsh, unforgiving. Every morning was dreadful. Furzepaw just wanted her training to be over with so she could get on with her life without him. He treated her the same as her father did. She had such high hopes for the tom, only to be afraid of how far he'd push her element every day until each movement burned. Still, she prayed that if she worked harder, he'd be less harsh on her. The better she got, the less he'd scold her for her efforts, right?
The calico padded into camp, parting ways with her mentor as she wandered towards the apprentices' den. She settled down by the den entrance, wrapping her tail around her flank. Only a few more moons, Furzepaw. She thought. Then you'll be your own cat.
A hopeful dream that she held onto dearly.
