Was it wrong for her to say that she'd felt better than ever before for approximately the past moon and a half?
It felt as if something inside of the warrior had awakened, bringing forth newfound strength and curiosity in Sandwhisker, a sensation she couldn't quite explain. Simply put...it was remarkable.
Naturally she hadn't expected anything necessarily wrong or different outside of self-enlightenment or any other positive change. Why would once doubt themselves or go to the medicine cat if they felt...well, better than ever before? More often than not, Sandwhisker had found herself hunting rather than lounging about camp like before, or further pondering StarClan and strengthening her faith in them. She wondered if RiverClan had noticed her change in disposition and energy?
The empowered warrior had continued out of camp to begin her hunt, deciding to tackle landprey with her revitalized strength rather than settle for the typical fish. She had grown to enjoy challenging herself and tackling what she had thought was once impossible. Of course, she was also lingering near the border in hopes of catching sight of Beetlerunner once again. This sudden change she had felt within herself..she loved it, enjoyed it, welcomed it...
...if only she knew.
The masked molly had been on pursuit of a mouse when things just went south. She felt restless, painful, not well...and then, there they were: three surprise kittens, all of which were completely unexpected of the molly. Sandwhisker felt a pang of fear wash over her when she pondered their fate, as they were half-clan kits. What would Beetlerunner think of this? Sandwhisker hadn't known that she was expecting, and so neither did he. What if he didn't want kits?
Unfortunately, that was the least of the now-queen's worries. With the arrival of her kittens, the strange peaceful sensation had left her, leaving her to feel like her old self. It was something she still couldn't quite describe until she hovered over her three little furballs, gently grooming their coats. A black smoke son who reminded her most of her home, a seal point like herself with whom her natural affinity felt strongest with, and...
The last one, the broken tabby molly...it made her belly tingle, yet focusing on her tabby daughter brought back that same empowered sensation she'd felt before. What was it- what was so different about this one? A nervous glance towards the WindClan half reminded Sandwhisker that her kittens might be in danger, and that they needed to return home.
All the sudden, she felt a powerful need to bring all three of them back to camp for their own safety.
Something told her that the clans would never be the same again.
