Mistypelt watched the leaders quietly, before she moved to a place to speak to the other Medicine cats. The tension amongst them all was palpable, her anxiety rising to her throat as she remembered. No. They were here in peace, and she and the others like her were not defined by borders or rivalry. They were Starclan's, first and foremost...or that was how her mentor had taught her. A glance skyward had her smiling, remembering with fondness her first Gathering. Let the other Medicine Cats join her...There was much to discuss...
------------
Nightthorn looked up at her leader as he took to the rock, her eyes critical. She was suspicious, that much was true, of any clan not her own. Shadowclan came first and foremost, and that meant being on eternal guard. She would not leave his side for the Gathering, not until she was sure that the tension she could all but smell in the air did nothing but linger.

Move dust through the light to fide your name #### Sagewhisker flicked his tail when Briarsong spoke. Their leader's sickness was indeed a concern to him, but he knew she had to say what she did to ensure the other Clans didn't think of them as vulnerable. Especially ShadowClan's apprentices. He narrowed his eyes as he looked up at Ravenstar. DarkClan appeared to attend every gathering now that they had cats. That's just great.
The tom wrapped his tail around his paws and dipped his head to Mistyheart. "Greetings, Mistyheart. I hope your grief for your mentor is easing. That kind of heartbreak can be difficult." He meowed with respect. This is not a place. Not yet awake.

Mistyheart gladly followed her new representative into the gathering without qualms or doubt. She wouldn’t deny she was a little nervous for their sake, seeing as this was their first gathering in their new position and there was much tension between the clans - if the last gathering was anything to speak of. Still, Heatherstar had always seemed a patient and fair leader from Mistyheart’s stand point, and the other clans had much lesser issues with Riverclan. Thunderclan and Shadowclan were tangled up in their own issues as it was, and Darkclan had to put enough effort into just keeping their heads above the current of hate, something the young medicine had to admit Ravenstar was doing an admirable job at. Still, Mistyheart couldn’t help the pause in her step as she gazed up upon the new head of their clan, ears twitching to catch the words passed between them and their fellow leaders. Yes, it would seem pleasantries would be maintained, for now. A pleased smile touched Mistyheart’s face at this, and she pushed her nerves aside as best she could. Ears pricked alertedly and tail swaying softly behind her, Mistyheart made her way over to where the medicine cats sat, curling her tail neatly over her paws as she settled. It wasn’t until then that her gaze was drawn toward Mistypelt, still looking quite nervous despite the comfort her leader appeared to give. The Windclanner had been a sole medicine cat for longer than Mistyheart herself, but still Mistyheart did note that each gathering she seemed considerably anxious. It had taken a little time for her to cease the emotions of the other triggering her own anxiety, yet even still, compassion compelled her. However, rather than moving from her spot, the Riverclanner simply sorted her expression, and aimed to gently meet her gaze with a warm smile the moment she should glance her way. However, it seemed for the moment Mistypelt’s attentions were otherwise occupied. Soon enough, the rest of the clans arrived, Thunderclan’s deputy announcing sickness and drawing a pang of sympathy from Mistyheart and well wishes from the other leaders. However, Mistyheart didn’t get much opportunity to dwell on the matter, for Sagewhisker joined her side and spoke in familiar, warming tones. A soft smile gracing her features, Mistyheart turned her gaze upon her fellow medicine cat and offered a nod of respectful greeting in turn. “Yes, it has been...rather difficult. However, my clanmates serve for great support, and my role does well to hold the fondest of memories.” A reflective look dawned upon her at that, before she shook it aside with a look of compassionate query. “I do hope your leader recovers well, don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you need.” While borders separated the clans, medicine cats abided by Starclan first and foremost, the ties between them running much deeper. Besides, Riverclan had a sufficient herb stock, and the fall of any leader could be damaging to all the clans, especially with the coming of Leafbare. Attentions drawn briefly away from her companion, a smile was offered to Mistypelt at the Windclan medicine cat’s approach, a gentle reassurance alighting her gaze. “Mistypelt, you are doing well, I hope?”Rune, Thorne

Spiderface's eyes narrowed into slits as Thunderclan began to descend to the Gathering. His eyes bored into the deputy's form as she leapt onto Thunderclan space on the high rocks and announced sickness. He let out a snort. A real leader wouldn't let such a small sickness stop them from attending such an important meeting for the clans. Maybe he/she was just faking it so he/she wouldn't have to be within two fox-lengths from a Darkclan cat. He flicked an ear. His tail began thumping against the ground as Thunderclan's medicine cat, Sagewhisker, padded over to him and the other medicine cats, eyes locked on Ravenstar with disdain. How dare he! Spiderface could barely hold back a low growl as he sat down not too far away from him. "Sagewhisker," he said, looking everywhere but the white tom. He calmed himself as Mistyheart spoke. Thorne

Mistypelt took comfort as all the Medicine cats gathered together, her shaking subsiding, and a smile carefully curling her maw. Yes, this was better. Here, she could focus on the wishes of Starclan, and not concern herself with the mounting tensions around her. It wasn't until Mistyheart adressed her that she dared to speak again, "Yes. I'm still learning to keep my calm, for it is difficult without my Mentor, though my Clan gives me their strengths daily. I can only hope that you're well as well?" Her head bowed to both Spiderface and Sagewhisker, contenting herself with their presences. This was nice, having a gathering of cats who cared for all cats, "What of the rest of you? Has all been well?" Her tail curled delicately about her feet, she settling to sit and talk now.

A brown blur came tearing into the clearing amongst the chatter.
"Sorry! -kit had a thorn stuck in her paw, but I'm here now!"
Which was probably more information than anyone there had really asked for, but now they knew.
The fluffy brown tom scanned the crowd and the stones quickly, picking out the thronging medicine cats and the leaders on the stones. Aw, Mistypelt looked like she was having some trouble. New Riverclan Representative and... a new Thunderclan leader? Last he had seen Sagewhisker -star was doing just fine! Sunheart ran towards the stones, fearlessly, or perhaps having no sense of social etiquette, chirruping multiple questions one after the other.
"Hi! You're the new Representative, right? Something -song, aahhh I know this one, it's right on the tip of my tongue! ... Ah I swear I know it, just not coming to me right now. And you're the Thunderclan Deputy, aren't you? Or, were. Briarsong, right? Or is it Briarstar now? Last I saw -star was okay did somethi-"
Wait!
Mistypelt!
Stopping in the middle of his sentence, Sunheart's eyes widened in sudden realization. Foxdung, he'd completely forgotten!
Spinning a complete 180 degrees in less than the twitch of a tail, the tom bolted over towards the thronging medicine cats, all but leaving an afterimage in his wake.
"Mistypelt! Are you okay? You look upset, do I need to fight someone? Can't say I know what I'm doing but I'll have righteous fury on my side!"
The tom puffed up his chest dramatically, standing tall and throwing his head back in melodramatic antics. He prattled on fast than a kit could get into trouble, leaving any watchers wondering where he kept all that air since he didn't seem to breathe between questions.
"Oh! Sagewhisker, is -star alright? Do you need anything? You should have said something if you needed it! Hi Mistyheart! How'd the election go? Any fighting break out between candidates or just thinly veiled insults? You coping alright? Do I need to fight anyone for you too? Hey Spiderface, how's the new clan? Discover any cool new dark powers?" ThorneThyraRuneBlaze

Lynxstar thundered through the valley, with the fury of a badger. He was just fine, Sagewhisker couldn't make him stay in camp because of whitecough, nonetheless, from a Gathering. As Thunderclan Leader, he was to represent Thunderclan with strength and pride! So what if he couldn't make it through a couple of sentences without hacking up a furball? He was going to the Gathering , whether Sagewhisker liked it or not! As he finally made it to Five Stones, his exhaustion gave way to anger and hate. That band of rouges was here, along with their so called "Leader" Ravenstar. He never did believe Starclan granted her nine lives, he always thought she lied so she could seem just as powerful as him. He huffed and looked away from her and her so called "Clan". That wasn't why he was here. He turned his golden gaze to Duskstar, a growl erupting from his throat. His lips curled back as he stared up at the Shadowclan Leader, marching right up to his own stone and leaping up next to Briarsong. He trotted up to Duskstar until he was barely a mouse-length away from him, giving him his most intense stare. "You crowfood eating, foxhearted, territory burner! You and your clan!" he yowled, his tail lashing about in anger behind him.

“Ah, so you are, in fact, well enough to come here and insult me needlessly.” Duskstar raised his chin slightly. If Lynxstar was going to make such wild accusations already, he would apparently need to be the bigger cat. Again. “We’ve already been through this, Lynxstar, I don’t believe anything was done with intentions. Of course, you wouldn’t know how volatile a fire element can be when they’re young, would you? You just smother them in the earth you represent and dull them, don’t you?” He tittered, and leaned back on his stone. “Ah, but this is a gathering. We ought to be civil, yes? Then be civil, Lynxstar. I’ve been waiting since last moon for you to be civil and so far I have been disappointed. Prove me wrong.” Blaze

A growl erupted from Lynxstar's throat. "Of course, I am well. It is my duty as Thunderclan Leader to attend these gatherings." he said. "The time has passed for us to be civil, Duskstar. Your fire elementals burnt half of Thunderclan territory to a crisp! It took my growth patrol a half moon to restore our territory back to what it was and another quarter moon for the prey to return!" He unsheathed his claws and scraped them again the Thunderclan stone. "It could not have been Windclan of Riverclan, could it? Riverclan hardly has any fire elementals and Windclan has no need to tame their fire elementals with our forest. Which means Shadowclan had to have started it, and I will not rest until you take the blame for what your clan has done." He snorted, "I do not need to prove the likes of you wrong, when we all know I am right. So stop being a coward and face me like a tom!" izumakoto

Duskstar gave a heavy sigh. “If it was my clan, I would have known about it. I am sorry for your loss, but by Starclan, calm yourself. Are you sure it was caused by an elemental? It could have been a wildfire. Where is your proof against my clan, hm? It is very, very unwise to jump to such conclusions.” His eyes flashed, and he watched the other leader with a gaze of steel. How could he expect anything less from the clan that’s ostracized him, the clan that still housed the attacker that drove him out of it and still treated him like kin? It wasn’t a secret that Dark elementals were well disliked in Thunderclan. Was that what this was about? The great tom tilted his head slightly, to look down his muzzle at Lynxstar. The air around him shimmered, as if the shadows about him became denser, swirling. “Such accusations give one the impression of war, Lynxstar. And neither of us can afford war, so I suggest we move along like the adults we are and get this out of the way.” Blaze

Lynxstar threw his head back and gave Duskstar a barking laugh. "Am I sure, he asks. Am I sure?" He met Duskstar's gaze with a wide smile. "How could it have been a wildfire when it is no secret that Shadowclan trains its fire elementals on the Thunderclan border. If that was a secret you were trying to keep, you were not doing a very good job at keeping it!"
He spat as Duskstar continued to deny his actions. He was glad this foxheart was chased out of Thunderclan, if this is what he would've grown up to be! "Well, then, if it was not Shadowclan, then who else could it have been?" He turned down to the sea of cats below him. "Speak up! Do not fret! The one who burned Thunderclan territory will only have to face judgement from me! Show yourself now or face the consequences!"
He waited a few heartbeats before he turned back to Duskstar, his smile gone and replaced with a harsh scowl. "What proof do I need when Shadowclan is the clan of fire?" he growled. "I do not want to go war if I do not have to, but it seems there is only one solution to this." He stood nose to nose with Duskstar now, his muzzle wrinkling in disgust as he took the Shadowclan Leader in for his full size. "Admit your clan set fire to Thunderclan territory." The earth beneath him began to shake, as if his rage was becoming sentient.
"Or else." izumakoto

“Oh, save yourself the embarrassment,” Duskstar groaned as Lynxstar turned to the crowd, jovially asking for something that would never have been answered. “It’s nothing I’m aware of. I’ll ask my clan in private if you badly want me to.” The Clan of Fire? Oh, that sounded like the usual elementary discrimination to him. He couldn’t hold the growl that bubbled onto his tongue, and tendrils of smoky shadow extended from his body, reaching, reaching for the other leader. “So this is how you’re playing it,” he said, his voice threateningly soft. “Every fire in the valley is now our fault because we house the most fire elementals in the clans. How frankly disgusting of you. Can we please move along now? I’m getting rather bored of-“ Admit your clan set fire to Thunderclan territory. Or else. How disappointing. “I will never admit to such baseless lies,” Duskstar laughed. “Are you a kit again? This sounds like you are trying to wage a nursery war. All right. I deny the allegations made, until you bring me solid proof.” The shadows spread. They looked like vines coming out of his black pelt. “So be it, then. Make your preparations and leave if you are that insistent upon a battle. I doubt you will find allies here. No-one fights for a lie except you.” Blaze

Lynxstar hesitantly took a step back as Duskstar's shadows began to spread, wrapping around his body and wisping over his fur. He gave a snort of disgust. "Lie? You dare accuse me of lying?" he snarled. He gave a harsh stomp with his front paw, a pillar of earth shooting up from the ground below and dissapating Duskstar's shadows. "The only one lying is you, Duskstar." he growled. He turned around and leapt down from the Thunderclan stone. "So be it. Thunderclan will not stand down, Duskstar and if you will not admit your wrongdoing, then next time we meet shall not be at a Gathering, but on the battlefield." He whipped around to meet Duskstar's gaze once more. "But once Thunderclan defeats you, do not ask for mercy, do not ask to be spared. Thunderclan has given you the chance to stop this but you refused to listen. And it will be your ignorance that will be your downfall." he hissed. He looked into Duskstar's eyes for a few more moments before he turned back around lifted muzzle to the sky, glaring up at the clouds covering the moon. "Thunderclan! We are leaving!" izumakoto
Fernbreeze shrank at her leader's call. She didn't think Shadowclan was innocent, not for a heartbeat. But was this truly necessary? There was no need to be so angry at one another, especially not now. The clans needed to be at peace with one another, with the rouges trying to make a statement. She rose to her paws, heaving a resigned sigh. Oh, well. The word of her leader was just as important as the will of Starclan and she couldn't ignore him, even if she wanted to. She trotted after Lynxstar, looking over her shoulder once more.

Things always did seem to turn from better to worse.
Eyes widening in surprise as Shadowclan’s medicine cat bounded around like a kit awaiting their ceremony, Heatherstar stepped forward on her perch to peer down at him, perfectly ready to address the tom, when he suddenly swivelled away to turn his ramblings upon his fellow medicine cats. With a look halfway between mild irritation and amusement, the Windclan leader stepped back once more, before smoothing her expression to calm as attentions of the gathering once more shifted.
Lynxstar? So he had arrived, after all.
Clearly, it was because through no sickness could he give up the chance to ridicule Duskstar, as before anyone else could even utter a greeting or concerns for his health, he’d already began snarling at the other tom like some mindless dog. Not even adressing his deputy.
Not sitting down lest she find herself needing to split the pair up, yet not speaking for this was beyond her fight, the leader simply watched with a cool gaze, assessing the pair and listening to their words with calm, if not a little distaste. The usual argument, it would seem, because all the pair seemed to do was fight rather than putting any actual effort into resolving the problem. Be it Shadowclan’s fault or not, the fact that blame was pegged on them and they wished to relieve it surely meant that this was their issue as well, nonetheless. The pair ought to find a solution together.
War was supposed to be a last resort, not a first.
It would seem Starclan had agreed, for darkness soon descended upon the clearing as clouds covered the moon, drawing Lynxstar’s words to a conclusion and calling apart the growling of the two clans below. Thunderclan was quick to leave, and Heatherstar simply watched them until they had disappeared, before turning her attention toward the other leaders. The clouds had not drifted away from the moon. The gathering was to end.
Dipping her head to the remaining leaders, Heatherstar stepped forward to address the remaining clans below, tail whisking for silence. “Thank you all for coming, but it would appear Starclan has deemed this gathering over. A shame. I wish you all well for the coming moon.”
One last gaze was cast toward Duskstar (should he still remain), though if there were judgement in her eyes, one would not see it beyond the calm that embraced her being. Instead, she offered him a slight nod, as though to extend her well wishes of luck toward him and his clan should Thunderclan and Shadowclan’s fall once more to battle, before she descended to the ground, gesturing her clan in silence to follow.

The Representative could only watch as a chaotic bundle of energy darted into the Gathering, barely stifling a chirrup of amusement as the tom darted off to his actions. Well, that made for an interesting beginning to their first Gathering indeed.
But alas, it was to get even more interesting. Sadly, not in a positive way.
Before their very eyes, the leader, who was apparently not as sick as first thought, blustered his way in, yowling up a storm of rage and flashing teeth. Grey eyes hardened as Watersong rose to their paws, sleek fur rippling like the waves and head high, eyes narrowed in disapproval as their glared at the childish tom. The clouds o'er head did not frighten them as they blocked out Silverpelt, if anything, they could almost feel the energy in the clouds stirring in their very bones, and were they a less experienced cat, they would have thought one of their own had called a rainstorm to the Gathering, to stop this fool with a flood before he could shed blood on Starclan's sacred night.
But at least, they seemed to get the point the heavens tried to command, and despite the heated words and stirring of wrath among the clans, they left without a drop shed.
Watersong would not deny the relief that escaped them as the troublemakers left to go their separate ways, and their shoulders unwound visibly. The others began to trickle out, and they returned Featherstar's nod with one of their own, before turning to Ravenstar with what was an attempt at slight humor in their eyes. They mewed quietly.
"Well, if he had to crash the Gathering, at least they didn't actually start the war tonight. Small mercies."
It fell rather flat, but they tried to keep positive in any case.
"I hope you and yours have safe travels back, and may Starclan be kind this leafbare."
Best to not cause trouble where it wasn't needed. The clans seemed to already have a war on their paws.
They leapt down after that, tail high and head returning to it's confident hold. They flowed back towards home, walking through the throng of cats like one would part the waters, and setting off to do just that so that Riverclan might make it back safe and sound.
