THERE IS A THIN LINE between what is good and what is evil I will tiptoe down that line but I will feel unstable Life had been pretty regular for the fire-tempered she-cat, outside of her little "accident" that she swiftly took care of. She was admittedly disappointed that ThunderClan were first to find them, and that WindClan had failed to snatch them up at the border like she'd been hoping. Fortunately, her secret was still safe and hidden, and she'd ensure that it was kept that way. The pair of tomkits seemed to be growing well, but frankly, Vixenleap didn't care. She had removed them from the picture in hopes that it would permanently remain that way, but now, here they were: ThunderClan members regardless. Whatever- they just needed to stay out of her way. It'd ruin her image. However, Acornkit and Fogkit weren't the only secret the russet warrior harbored. The other wasn't quite as subtle, rather it was as erratic as her temperament. When she caught wind of the assault on Lynxstar, she found herself oddly...concerned for his state. She didn't particularly enjoy the worry that weighed down her heart, nor was she really fond of the fact that he didn't put her on the battle patrol. So, yes: Vixenleap was distressed by what happened to Lynxstar, yet at the same time- karma. Should've had her there to deal with Ravenstar and Mouseclaw. Whatever happened to that promotion he'd been preaching about all those moons ago? The warrior now rested in camp with that characteristic irritated twitch of her restless tail, slowly grooming the blood from her paws. Just a few moments ago, she'd viciously devoured a scrawny mouse. She was beginning to watch herself when it came to how much she ate, seeing that she was narcissistic eager to shed the signs that she'd been expecting kits a moon or so ago. She had a figure and an ego to watch. ...Didn't want to rival Lynxstar in weight. MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Lynxstar’s eyes scanned over camp from the High Rock, supressing a wince as he made himself comfortable. He didn’t need another lecture from Sagewhisker for messing up the dressings on his wounds to go with everything else. How could he be so foolish to lose two lives in one day? He’d been far too confident, and far too prideful in his own abilities against a Dark elemental. It would’ve done him good to have a different element on his patrol rather than have only Earth elementals. From what he heard from Briarsong, one of Ravenstar’s warriors had been gravely wounded. He may not have liked Dark elementals in the slightest, but he still did his best to follow the code. He wished for the best for the cat in question, but he saw this as a triumph; so it wasn’t a total loss, after all. He’d been ordered by Sagewhisker to stay in camp until he was able to move without complaining of aches, but they both knew that wasn’t going to happen with Lynxstar’s age. And so, he’d been forced to occupy himself by checking up on his resting warriors, wandering around camp countless times over now. He’d never been one for gossip outside of gatherings, if he had nothing to with it, he saw no reason for him to hear about it, but it seemed there were far too many rumors about too many of his warriors. The most preposterous he’d heard was that Copperlight and Lilacheart were involved in some grand scheme of Starclan to bring back a sibling from Riverclan. Even with the added stress of overseeing all operations within Thunderclan, being diplomatic with other clans, and training Newtpaw to take over Thunderclan when he finally went to hunt with Starclan, it was safe to say he did not miss being a warrior in the slightest. Lynxstar’s golden eyes finally spotted a familiar ruddy coat by the freshkill pile. He felt his shoulders slack as he slowly padded over, grabbing a squirrel from the pile as he lied down, making himself comfortable. He grunted a greeting to Vixenleap as he took a bite of his food, resting his head in his paws. ”Are you aware that those two kits we found by the border may be Fernbreeze’s estranged kits?” he finally said, hoping to start conversation. 20mia08

THERE IS A THIN LINE between what is good and what is evil I will tiptoe down that line but I will feel unstable Speak of the devil, there he was- helping himself to the fattest squirrel on the pile. She could swear that he was mocking her with what he selected to eat, as if teasing her for the diet she had so foolishly chosen to take up. The fox-colored warrior swallowed hard, as if forcing away her temptations to snag a chunk of the squirrel for herself, observing the thick-furred leader as he seated himself and attempted to make conversation. The senior warrior had paused in the midst of her grooming to take in his words, eyes narrowing to the slightest degree. A bad topic for him to strike up. Vixenleap fought back the desire to slap him hard, so hard that his muzzle would become situated on the side of his face. The last thing she wanted to speak about was those mistakes that she took so much time to ditch, reminders that her loyalty had faltered to the clan that she had loved so dearly. Of course, he was oblivious to the fact that she was truly their mother, and she intended to keep it that way. This was a secret she'd take to her grave, and beyond that, something that not even Lynxstar would ever hear about. Curse that WindClan tom and his charmingly playful remarks...! She had hoped that WindClan would wind up with the little furry worms, but no- Stormstar was too lazy to go out of his way and check his borders. After she finally managed to relax the tightening muscles in her jawline, the ruddy warrior flicked her tail indifferently. "They look close enough." She removed her hazel pools from the smoke tom and glowered down at her paws, proceeding to lick at them as a form of distraction for herself. Vixenleap allowed her mind to drift elsewhere, keenly interested in moving off the subject of the orphaned pair of kits. Raising her gaze once more, the feline briefly looked Lynxstar up and down with a satirical lopsided grin. "You're that desperate to get away from bossy grandpa Sagewhisker, hmm? Think that I'm enough to scare him off?" The warrior regained her typical obnoxious demenaor, picking herself up so that she could walk herself closer to her companion before flopping herself down near him in a lazy manner. There was an almost mischievous glint in her eyes as they focused on the tom's tail, but she resisted the urge to claw at it like some pesky apprentice. "We're due for a rematch, y'know. Don't tell me the mighty Lynxstar is afraid to have a little battle practice out of camp. I know I'll win- but still." Understandably, he'd recently been off to war, but the fiery warrior was still itching to have her turn. She would forever hold a grudge against him for not inviting her along to the battle. Lynxstar gave Vixenleap a glance as he tore into the squirrel, grunting in agreement to her comment. Perhaps they did, but every cat that he knew of had a tail, and while the fallen warrior clearly had one, there was no appendage on the two toms to speak of. Very peculiar, indeed. His ear twitched as Vixenleap mentioned his medicine cat, scoffing at the mere thought of Vixenleap’s remark. ”He is not that old, you know. I have known Sagewhisker since he was a kit, he listened to the nursery tales that the elders told and merely scoffed, if that did not scare him, nothing will.” he mewed, flicking his tail once as his gaze turned mischievous. ”Of course, you are always welcome to try.” His face turned thoughtful at the mention of a rematch, it would do him some good to practice again. It’d been far too long since he’d left camp for no reason other than practice, and he would love to show Vixenleap just who she was dealing with again. ”I would like to see you struggle to bring me down again... I don’t see why not, I suppose.” he mewed. Sagewhisker didn’t have to know about this little spar. Even if something happened, the most he would get were a few scrapes and bruises. He’d be fine. 20mia08

THERE IS A THIN LINE between what is good and what is evil I will tiptoe down that line but I will feel unstable "Oh, please, the warrior scoffed when her leader yammered on about how Sagewhisker was old, pulling the whole "back in my day" while mentioning that the medicine cat was nothing more than a furball when Lynxstar first knew him. Of course. They all started out small- did he not understand basic biology? "Physically old, spiritually old, it's the same thing." The fire-colored molly sat upright as she spoke, tail twitching briskly to communicate her increasing derisive mood. Slowly, the cruelest of grins widened across her finely shaped facial features, with sharp eyes darkening as that sarcastic comment she'd been attempting to hold back just barely slipped past her lips. "In your case, you're just both. Most unfortunate." Almost immediately she rose to her paws, incapable of sitting still like some enthusiastic apprentice prepared to attend her first ever hunt. Or, she was just a cat hoping to dodge any swipe Lynxstar might throw her way after that remark. "So I guess you'll just have to prove me wrong on that statement. Or try to."Her? Struggle to bring him down before? Nonsense! "I went easy on you." Vixenleap argued in a smooth and regal tone, circling around him impatiently as if she was waiting for Lynxstar to slowly stagger to his paws like some ancient elder. "I couldn't risk burning all of that precious fluff of yours to a crisp. Can't have everyone laughing at you at the gatherings- I'd have to beat them up for you, and that's just rude. We both know I'm not the rude type." Already she was beginning to dance over to the exit of camp on light pawsteps, tail waving in the sassiest of manners. MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Lynxstar flicked an ear as he sent Vixenleap a sideways glance.
Had it been any other warrior, he would’ve immediately taken the initiative to make sure that they wouldn’t even think about scoffing his words in his presence. Had it been any other warrior, he was sure they wouldn’t’ve, but this was Vixenleap, a warrior with a fire that matched his own. So he let it slide this once, not because he didn’t want to deal with the aftermath, but because he wanted to see where this went.
Just as she leapt away from a swipe, he gave a smirk, as he got to his paws. He took his time following the she-cat, before stopping in his tracks a few mouse-lengths away. ”Indeed, I will. I am to assume you will actually try this time, then? It was much too easy before,” he mewed. ”And ’fluff’ is barely as thick as you think it is, but I welcome you to attempt again all the same.”
He slowly trotted past, giving her ear a flick with his tail. He didn’t look back until he made it to the camp entrance. ”You are coming, are you not?”

THERE IS A THIN LINE between what is good and what is evil I will tiptoe down that line but I will feel unstable The red warrior waited with several impatient yet enthusiastic twitches of her thin tail, eyes lowered at she studied her flexed claws with a scrutinizing glance. StarClan, he was awfully slow today- he had to be doing that on purpose, taking his sweet old time to glide across camp like the dustbunny he was. When he shot a sarcastic remark in her direction, the compact feline immediately raised raised her gaze to accept his challenge. "I'll try harder, I don't want to break your ego- times like these won't be as entertaining otherwise." The fire was practically visible in her eyes. "I'm coming, I'm coming." Vixenleap held her place as he passed for several silent moments, whiskers quivering from the energy she could barely contain. She let him pass for the time being, otherwise she'd run circles around him until they finally arrived. At that moment she decided to test the waters, to poke fun at him in a different manner, to let Lynxstar think that he had her attention. "Besides, I think pompous-Lynxstar is quite charming." Her grin was prickly and not at all appealing, and she was sure to give him a rough shove before passing by. MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

20mia08Lynxstar raised an eye ridge at the she-cat before he snorted softly. ”Good. I expect to be thoroughly entertained then,” he chuckled. She was like a kit leaving the nursery for the first time, most would consider it cute if she wasn’t herself. He liked teasing her, he decided he would do this more often. He quickened his pace just a bit so that she didn’t end up scratching a hole in the ground, but no faster than a badger’s trot. He spared a glance at the warrior’s comment, before giving a soft grunt at her shove. He gave her a quiet laugh before he straightened up again to catch up. ”Flattery will get you nowhere, miss Vixenleap,” he said before he paused. ”...Though, I suppose one would say something along those lines to you as well.”

THERE IS A THIN LINE between what is good and what is evil I will tiptoe down that line but I will feel unstable He had to be moving at that pace intentionally, just to get underneath her skin. Well, it was successful thus far, watching him lumber about caused the feline's flame-colored tail to twitch out of her impatience. Thankfully, she was amusing herself at the moment and therefore wasn't too likely to lash out. It wouldn't be unfair to catch him off-guard, now would it? Vixenleap was all about candor and every member of ThunderClan was aware of that. She was an open book.... ...maybe a little too frank sometimes. The compact warrior did not pause in her stride, rather she glanced back at him no-so-dubiously when he halted to shoot that almost charming response in her direction. Please, she wouldn't let that old furball get to her, no matter how handsome she thought him to be. She was untouchable, a goddess of ThunderClan- yet it was so tempting... "Flattery might get you somewhere, Lynxstar." Her smirk was almost self-satisfied, narcissistically pleased that he seemingly complimented the spitfire of a she-cat, yet there was a touch of flirtatiousness in her low tone. Was it a trap? Likely- she enjoyed getting into his head, especially if it meant that she might be the winner of their little spar. Anything to put herself up on a higher pedestal. At this rate, she had slowed her pace to walk closer to her leader, sick of circling him like a vulture to crowfood. Once Vixenleap felt that they were at a good location to stop and have a rematch, she swung around suddenly in hopes of intentionally slapping him in the face with her thin, whip-like tail. 'Finally!' he though as she began to fall into step just a little ways away. He was beginning to think she might just run ahead and leave him in his not-at-all worn out state. Missing the she-cat's tail by a mere whisker, Lynxstar eyed Vixenleap for a moment before he got down to a defensive position. "Well, then? What are you waiting for? I did not drag myself behind you for a mere chat," he lightly teased. He remebered that she liked to cling to a larger opponent like a burr, and the snow seemed to finally be melting so he had no way to put out any flames that she might summon. He resigned himself to expect a few burn marks to appear by the end of the day, much to his, and later Sagewhisker's, slight annoyance. His claws slid in and out of his paws in anticipation as he watched for her next move. 20mia08

THERE IS A THIN LINE between what is good and what is evil I will tiptoe down that line but I will feel unstable With her tail starting to twitch wildly out of exhilaration for their first brawl in moons, the red warrior slowly lowered herself to the ground, pondering her choices. "So eager to get burned to a crisp? I'm happy to oblige." She imagined that he'd be quite a bit smaller without all of that hair, even if it did look pretty good on him. Not that it mattered. She was longing to put her elemental powers aside and use physical strength against her opponent, but this wasn't the best situation for that. Due to the tom's superior size, he could easily outpower her, no matter how hard she worked on her strength and agility. For now, fire was her best option if she desired victory- and that was what she wanted most. A good workout was always great fun, but if she wasn't first...then she was a lower, and that wouldn't fly with Vixenleap. So with a sadistic grin, the warrior allowed her claws to ignite, and she charged her leader in hopes of clinging to his side once more. MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Lynxstar stumbled on on wet ground as Vixenleap suddenly lunged, narrowly avoiding her claws before he turned and raked his claws in the wet earth to steady himself. He he worked his paws into the earth and let out a low but fake growl before he summoned a few vines to shoot out at her. He wouldn't make them grab her too hard, just hard enough to keep her in place for what he planned to do next. 20mia08

((I'm too lazy to grab a template)) The red-furred feline narrowed her eyes at the sprouting vines that wrapped themselves around her paws. The warrior raised her head to glower at her companion. Had old age gotten to him? Had he forgotten that she was a fire element, perfectly capable of easily burning his precious plants to nothing more than a few crispy twigs? Vixenleap had done it before, and she was competent that she could repeat the act. Yet, the molly was also confident that she could make plenty of mistakes to pat Lynxstar's ego every once in a while- after all, she was a very talented combatant. She'd let him get his way this time, because she was certain that it was only an opportunity to get him closer so that she could roast his fuzzy hiney. The warrior sniffed, raising her chin. "Twigs? Is that all you got?"Blaze

Lynxstar hid his panic with a well placed shake, getting rid of a few twigs and rocks that managed to get into his pelt as he faced Vixenleap. He had a plan, of course - what self-respecting spar partner wouldn’t? - but he’d forgotten that she was more than capable of putting that plan to rest with a simple flick of her paw. Thankfully, she didn’t, for reasons that were lost to him, and he deemed it safe to execute the next part of his genius plan.
”Of course not,” he snorted. ”I’m insulted you think so lowly of me, to be frank. But here, I have a little present for you!”
He stamped a paw on the ground, pillars of earth shooting up in a line that headed straight for the she cat. He didn’t wanna hurt too bad, just enough that she knew who was boss.

The ticked tabby wasn't interested in getting crushed, she had plenty of plans later that afternoon which required her to be in one piece. Vixenleap allowed the heat to course from her body to her limbs, causing the vines to sizzle until they burst into flames. The warrior leaped to the side so the rock formation breezed pass her, allowing the adrenaline to further course through her veins. She was always up for a good thrill. Vixenleaped raced through the debris, doing her best to dodge whatever rocks might have fallen off the formations as she pelted towards Lynxstar. It was time to get up close and personal. Perhaps it was foolish to charge at a tom taller and more powerful than herself, especially one that was capable of wielding the earth. However, the hard-headed feline was rash, and there was no doubting that. What she wanted was a good fight, not something mediocre, not some boring spar to pass the time. By StarClan, she was going to make him work for it. Sparks flew from the she-cat's paws as she prepared to really lay into him. She allowed the rest of her energy to course through her veins and focus on on her paws, until she unsheathed her claws and permitted them to ignite. When she was close to her leader, Vixenleap forced herself off the ground and leaped towards Lynxstar with her flaming claws outstretched. "I'm going to have to return your gift."Blaze
