As cruel as it sounded, he felt awfully satisfied to sit in several brief moments of silence while Reedtail suffocated and was incapable of shooting some satirical comment in his direction. If he felt like being cruel, he could have easily continued to kick the tom while he was down, but Stormstar liked to think of himself as a fair tom. "What's wrong, Reedtail? Cat got your tongue?" However, the triumph that Stormstar bathed himself in did not last long, for he was incapable of dodging the warrior's next attack. Great StarClan- why did the fire element have to find him? Honestly, he was quite sick of all of the burning. Singed fur didn't exactly give off the greatest of smells, and frankly, he wasn't interested in catching some form of infection later on down the road from the burn wounds. Not to mention, he'd probably look like a naked rat at the end of the battle, at least at this rate. It was at that moment that Stormstar decided that he needed some space from this quite-possibly-insane tom.

Stormstar used Back Off.

The smoke tom stepped forward once more, wincing slightly as he stepped on a fried paw. Although his adrenaline was still running strong, it was slowly beginning to fail him. "There is no shame in retreating, Reedtail." He spoke boldly in a loud voice, attempting to make himself seem stronger than he physically felt at the moment. However, without waiting for a response, he raised his chin and summoned another series of wailing winds, to ensure that his enemy got the message.

Stormstar used Sandstorm.

Had Reedtail forgotten the code? Had he no care for his own well-being, and what could become of himself should he continue to keep his paws on fire? The leader pitied him deep down, but he saw no point in attempting to talk the RiverClan warrior into thinking otherwise. He appeared to be maddened by the thirst for bloodshed and victory, but Stormstar would honor the code. There would be no death here.
