Reedtail stopped the flames from leaving his paws as he was pushed away once again. This fight was becoming more and more tedious as time went on. He threw another small fireball in a desperate attempt to hit. He knew himself well enough. The tom would have to flee soon, and that was not a reality he wanted to live. They needed this territory, but he wouldn't die for his cowardly clanmates.

Was it so difficult for this tom to take a hint? The smoke leader scowled under his breath, praying that his warriors wouldn't fight in such a manner. There was honor in being loyal, but dancing with death? Foolish. A cat was much more useful if he was alive rather than dead. True, it'd be one less mouth for RiverClan to feed, but also one less pair of claws to catch fish when the ice chose to melt. Hopefully, after a few more attacks, Reedtail would choose to wisely back down. "Think of your apprentice, Reedtail."

Reedtail saw this tornado coming. He lept away, just barely fast enough to avoid it. He channeled another large fireball and launched it towards the source of the tornado. The scrapes on his pelt from the debris in the sandstorm stung, but he'd live.

Once more, he dropped and rolled as quickly as he could to extinguish the painful flames, gritting his teeth in agony. His ears were going numb at this rate. Did he still have ears? He hadn't the slightest idea, and that wasn't his primary concern at the moment. Stormstar's priority was now to finish the fight- and fast.

Reedtail watched as a strong gust of wind blew past him, slamming into a boulder close to him. I see the sandstorm is impairing his vision as well. Good. He thought. He knew he needed to give it his all to win the fight now. He launched another large fireball, hoping to land it again.

Keeping the sandstorm up was tiring, but it was imperative to his battle technique. He was beginning to hope that once he and Reedtail finished, the entire war would be over, so that they could all go home and take a ridiculously long nap. But he doubted that would happen- war was a long and cruel thing. Lashing his tail, he attempted to raise yet another tornado, in hopes that it'd finally hit.

The sandstorm died down once more and his vision was restored. He saw the tornado coming and moved away quickly, shaking out his pelt. He'd need to spend much time grooming all the dirt out of his fur. He was not thrilled for that time to come. He prepared another large fireball, though the tom's exhaustion was visible.

He was a fool to not reactive his sandstorm sooner, but he was hoping to conserve his energy by doing so. However, it only ended up costing him- a few more hairs, that was. Stormstar's body was engulfed in flames once more, forcing him to- once again- throw himself onto the snowy earth in hopes of saving himself from further damage. The WindClanner staggered to his paws, drawing in a deep breath before calling upon another sandstorm. He wouldn't make the same mistake twice.
Stormstar used Sandstorm.
