As the sun was finally setting behind the pine trees, ShadowClan camp began to wind down for the night. Kits were being called back into the nursery by their mother, the last patrols of the day were returning to eat and then rest for the night and elders shared tongues with the apprentices as they told them stories of times long past. Soon, ShadowClan camp was barren, save for the few Dark Elemental cats who preferred to stay up during the night. This was the usual routine ShadowClan followed ever since Nightstar came to power. That was the way it was supposed to be.
This night, however, things were going to change for the worst. Because this night, the two resident professional instigators, Sunwing and Quietstorm, decided that they needed to liven things up a little. Big enough to catch the attention of a certain deputy. They slipped out of camp with little trouble, under the guise of going for a late night hunt, and quickly made their way to their chosen spot: Charred Plains. This is what they’d planned to do for days and nothing could stop them now.
”Stand back, frog-brain,” Sunwing said, strutting in front of her partner in crime. “Don’t want you getting your precious fur all burnt up if you’re in my way.” Quietstorm scoffed and rolled her eyes, but complied. “Who are you calling frogbrain? This was my idea, last I checked,” she grumbled. Sunwing didn’t reply, and instead gave her full focus onto the inferno she was set on creating. The flames danced the border and spread across the blades of grass that marked ThunderClan territory. Quietstorm playfully shoved the golden warrior out of the way, to add her own flames into the mix.
Once they were satisfied, they made their way back to camp, laughing and teasing the unfortunate cats all the way. Only to find when they returned that Silentsmoke, Crowleap and Nightstar were waiting expectantly.

Silentsmoke's sides expanded as the dark-furred tom held his breath in order to bite back a series of crude curses directed at his twin. He loved her dearly, he'd lay down his own life for his littermate, but she'd stepped too far this time. He had always gently redirected her to better pathways, but she seemed to be stubborn on sticking with that no-good Sunwing. Back when it was just the two of us...clan-wide chaos never became of our fun. Was he still jealous that Quietstorm had replaced him with some golden-furred she-cat that she kept mooning over? Of course, but the matter was beyond envy at this rate. They had sucked all of ShadowClan into their troubles now.
The raven-colored tom bit his lip when he spotted his sister's narrow skull poke its way into camp, a certain fire fed by excitement and infatuation burning in her amber eyes. Silentsmoke was dedicated to his clan. Sure, he had his occasional outburst where he put a toe or three out of line, but his heart always beat for the clan in which he'd been born into. He couldn't bear to watch his littermate tear apart what he'd spent moons working for, like an obedient drone bee. "Quietstorm!" He tried to hold it back, but the rage had forced his words to burst through clenched jaws. "How could you be such a frogbrain?!"
He meant no disrespect to neither Nightstar nor Crowleap (especially the latter, considering their...er, "friendship"), but he couldn't hold it in anymore. Not to mention, he felt empowered as he stood beside the jolly-natured Crowleap, as if he had something more to protect. What it was, he didn't understand. He just knew that he was horribly disappointed in his sister's actions.

The tom, who'd usually always been cheerful and kind, stared at the two in disappointment. He glanced at his side, eyes softening for a moment as he stared at Silentsmoke, though he returned his gaze back to Sunwing and Quietstorm, his normal smile replaced with a frown. He stayed quiet as Silentsmoke began to raise his voice at his sister, though he'd stand and put his tail on his friends shoulder, urging him to calm down.
After a moment, he'd turn from the tom and walk towards the pair, sighing. "How could you two be so careless? Do you know what you've done? It was bad enough you'd been doing things on your own, but now the entire clan is involved, and for what?" The tom didn't wait for an answer, he'd only shake his head. He was an only kit; born to parents who'd only care just enough for him to get through kithood. He didn't understand Silentsmoke and Quietstorm's relationship - or lack of, it seemed - nor did he attempt to. He was worried he'd step out of line if he tried.
Returning to his place in between Nightstar and Silentsmoke, he'd await a reply, ears perked. The two cats had probably hurt Thunderclan in their fun, and while he didn't particularly like Thunderclan, he knew it was wrong.

The petite black-furred warrior sent a scathing glare in the direction of her littermate, who had the audacity to go behind her back and support Nightstar and her goofy deputy, Crowleap. "We know well of what we've done." The warrior decided quickly before astutely raising her chin, a gleam of confidence in those pair of sadistic orbs. "Let ThunderClan burn. Since when did you begin to care so much for those uptight fleabags, anyways? They were never our allies- it would only be a matter of time before Lynxstar's ego gets the best of him and he decides to blame us for the disappearance of their warriors as well." Quietstorm rolled her shoulders, clearly comfortable underneath her skin and having no shame for the cataclysm she had participated in. "I just gave us a headstart."
"A headstart?!" Silentsmoke seethed, heat seeping from beneath his long black locks of fur. He couldn't tolerate his sister's arrogance, not at this hour while part of their valuable territory burned. "Don't you realize what you've done, sister? You're burning our resources, our prey! ThunderClan's practically double our size, so that's double the water elements and double the power to come and squash us for your insolence."

RosebounceIt had been a while since her sibling left the camp. Usually, the rose coloured warrior wouldn’t have batted an eye if her older sister left to hunt - as she had claimed. But something didn’t feel right about that night. And she wasn’t alone. Silentsmoke, Crowleap, and even the leader, Nightstar, gathered to wait for Sunwing and Quietstorm to arrive back, which made the tired she-cat uneasy. Smoke had started to flow in the sky. Silence seemed to intoxicate the camp, more so than usual. The Dark Elements that stayed up late were unusually quiet and, although the young cat could’ve sworn she could hear the three cats’ anger and disappointment, they said nothing as they all waited for the duo. This only made the she-cat shift uncomfortably. Soon, meows cut through the air and every warrior that still stood there awake snapped to look at the entrance. There, Rosebounce’s sister walked in. She couldn’t dare walk towards them, no. The leader and deputy would take care of it. And they didn’t wait long before the three sliced the duo with their words. Silentsmoke was particularly angry, but Crowleap chimed in as well. Blackstar stood silently. All she could do was watch. What was said barely mattered, her brain leaving them be unheard. Her green eyes were laying on Sunwing. She didn’t move, her warm breath hardly escaping her lungs as she waited. Quietstorm spat a few words at her brother, only making him more annoyed. Her eyes were clear, even in the barely lit clearing: disappointment ran rampant in the she-cat’s heart. Template by Kuroya of THQ & GS.

Leopardfang had noticed that most of the clan was standing outside, waiting for something almost. It wasn’t uncommon that a few clanmates stayed up during the night, namely the Dark Elementals, but something seemed to be up, seeing as Nightstar and Crowleap were both sitting amongst the clan. ’Might as well see what this is about,’ he thought, getting to his paws and joining the clan. He spotted Bramblefur and went to go join his brother before he heard the bushes rustle and part to show Quietstorm and Sunwing. He’d barely had time to register what was going on, before Silentsmoke and Quietstorm began to have a shouting match, while Rosebounce seemed to just be... staring. He heard something about “ThunderClan”, though so whatever these two were doing, they were being idiots about it.

Fool you shouldn't stare into these eyes of fire, you're going to regret this little fight #### @//tag Setting half the valley on fire certainly wasn't Sunwing's plan.
Their games put her sister's life at risk, and Sunwing felt shame. She wouldn't let Quietstorm see her discomfort in their destruction, though. She'd have to apologize to Rosebounce later.
For now, the task at hand was getting out of the mess they've made. Especially when confronted with ShadowClan's leadership. "Quietstorm's right. Lynxstar and Briarsong especially. If they want to try and push us around, we had to send them a message that ShadowClan won't roll over so easily."
This show of bravado was certainly not the best example to set for Rosebounce, but it was something the golden molly had to do for Quietstorm. There was some truth to her words, though. If Briarsong was injured in the fire, this would be worth it. If that maniac of a leader lost a life, it would be even better. You'll watch me ignite!

There was an eerie silence that fell upon the ShadowClan camp as Nightstar raised her tail, signalling everyone to silence themselves.
"I am so, very disappointed in you." She glared at the two mollies. Her golden gaze pierced the warriors, her expression unreadable. Other warriors stirred in the camp uncomfortably, making the preparations for evacuation if Nightstar gave the order.
Her burning look fell onto Quietstorm first.
"You were present at the last gathering, no? You are well aware that tensions are high between ourselves and ThunderClan. This little stunt won't solve anything." She growled. "Lynxstar had his paws occupied with Ravenstar and her warriors. If you believe that this was the best course of action, perhaps you need to return to apprentice duties. Take more time to learn the politics of the Five Clans while picking the ticks off of the Elders' pelts. I'm sure Breezepaw wouldn't mind the help." Nightstar said. "I had higher hopes for you."
Nightstar's eyes fell onto Sunwing next, not sparing the punishment for the golden molly, either. "It seems there's too much of your mother in you for your own good, Sunwing." She lashed her tail. "Is this the example you'd like to set for your dear sister to follow? To become an arsonist and put all the lives of your Clanmates at risk over some petty rivalry with the ThunderClan deputy, whom I assume has better things to do than skirmish with you at the border." Nightstar's gaze fell on Rosebounce briefly.
"If this is how you behave yourselves, like frog-brained apprentices, then you both can move back into the appropriate den and return to those duties. Leopardfang's kits will be joining you soon, and I do not intend on wasting resources to expand the den for you two."
Nightstar looked towards the treeline. The smoke was still distant, but she wasn't going to take any chances.
"Redmist, do what you can to prevent the fire from reaching the camp." She instructed.
The black molly flicked her tail. "Crowleap, I don't want those two on patrol together for a while. Do your best to keep them both occupied so we don't have another incident like this again." She told the deputy, nodding to him with her full confidence.
This was going to be a mess to deal with at the coming gathering. And they didn't have much time left to prepare.

"Of course, Nightstar." The tom replied to his leader, turning his head. "Sunwing, you'll start going on dawn patrols. Quietstorm, you'll be on night patrols." The dark tabby would stand, shaking his pelt. He was about to turn, though he'd stop. The deputy stared at Silentsmoke for a moment, thinking. He almost wanted to say something, to be of some emotional help, yet nothing came to mind.
He'd have to do it later. "I expect not to see you two together outside of camp, especially not alone. Do you understand?" The tabby gave no room for either cat to protest; surely they'd know he was serious.
